some will read this post and think your priorities are misplaced. i have, outside of my family, country and faith, only one true love… my Canes. I couldn't agree more. It will be a day that will live in infamy. we gave him every chance. next, sooner than later.
 
I made the mistake of attempting to read many of the posts in this thread. here are my takeaways in a nutshell:
1) anything is possible and we can still hope that the miserable failure of this season sunk in and the decision makers now realize al golden will never win here
2) just because they didn't do anything right after the loss to Pitt doesn't necessarily mean they didn't eventually reach the conclusion he should be fired, see point 1,
3) the OP clearly said to take this all with a grain of salt or for what its worth.. its a message board and therefore I never get my hopes up.
4) While Butch might be a good hire or the dream hire for some of you, I have always doubted they will go that direction. I still stand firm in my belief that Butch davis will never be considered due to what transpired at UNC.

I'm laying in a hospital bed in extreme abdominal pain but I'm checking to see if anything transpired with AG being gone, so I'm right there with you. Please let this be true.

Dude from ITU saying some commit is saying word is they were waiting for bowls games to be over and that if Golden is gone someone with ties to UM will be hired. Also mentioned there will definitely be coaching changes on the staff. If Coley goes some offensive players will transfer, no defensive players are looking to transfer. Suggested Cristobal because they lost night and Butch b/c he wasn't on set last night after the games.

I was hoping to find Al gone, but joy will be short lived if replacement is another ****. At this point I think we have to go with Butch -- they are not about to go out and get a big name. With the exception of Howard, they never have. Butch has unfinished business and clearly something to prove. He will bring the intensity we have been missing and change the recruiting game everywhere. U2 is like his personal sales pitch and every recruit has seen it. Is he God? No. But he sure as heck is at lease Moses.

Lol if defensive players havent left already...wtf would they leave now? haha

Coley would be better. He would have to get a great staff though.

Either of these would be better than the status quo though. But neither are the answer.

What does Cristobal have to do with Bama's defense. He is the Oline coach at Bama, an his Oline has played lights out for most of the year! Not to mention Cristobal would be a cheap safe hire for Miami at this point, thus softening the blow of the buyout paid to Al Golden.
