Don't Get it Twisted: It's the Offense Too

I've covered in detailed threads with images showing how miserable our Defense is. We are talking worst of all time defense.

But I cannot stand when people use the horrid defense to excuse the equally as bad offense. No, a competent DC wouldn't make this a good team, and James Coley is a ******* amateur. So here are some facts about the national champions since 2008 and where we compare offensively:

No team since 2008 has won the national championship with a rushing offense lower than 20, except 2013 FSU who was 28th. Miami sits at 103rd.

Only 1 team since 2008 has had a 3rd down conversion percentage lower than top 20 in the country (2009 Bama). Four of those championship teams had 3rd down conversion rates in the top 10, and three of them in the top 5. Miami sits at 114th.

Every team outside of last years OSU (who was down to their 3rd string QB) had a Red Zone efficiency offense in the top 30. Miami sits at 54.

And my new favorite stat: No team has cracked the top 40 in Tackles for Loss allowed. Most were well into the 50s, 60s and 70s. Miami this year is 3rd in the nation in tackles for loss allowed. Let that sink in.

And it's not just Coley. Kevin Beard is a loyal great Cane, but has no business coaching WRs here. Kehoe was finished ten ******* years ago. Ice is a goddam high school coach in a region that has the worst coaching in the country.

It's not one or the other, offense vs defense. They both need complete overhauls.

Umm, no. Once again, its not one or the other. It's BOTH. Why is this so hard to understand??? The defense is wretched. So is the offense. Get it?
 
Jesus we have some thick fans. Dorito is cancer and Corley is ebola. Does it really matter which one is worse? The point is THEY BOTH SUCK. They ALL suck. The entire staff is the WOAT.

the defense has given up over 500 yards 3 times already this season, playing teams that suck. Stop. You sound retarded and completely dont understand the post.

What is so difficult about accepting that it's not one or the other that BOTH sides of the ball feature incompetent coaching?

Why are you so mad? You not going to change that guy's opinion. We know we need new coaching.
 
Ya the offense is bad in part because our OC sucks at play calling and in part because our OL is god awful and that is where everything starts.. in the trenches.

But I'm not worried about our offense because Brad Kaaya, Stacy Coley, Scott, Waters and etc.. Too many weapons. They will overcome.

Our defense... Play calling and scheming are also terrible just like the O. But until AQM and Chad Thomas prove they can be elite playmakers every game.. I'm not convinced we can make up for the bad scheme and bad DC. There's only so much our good secondary can do if our DL can't get pressure. If we can't get in the backfield then our secondary will look bad regardless of who is back there.

Defense is hurting because of limited LB depth and poor LB play. Yes, that is on coaching/recruiting, they improved the depth of the DL but forgot about linebackers.

Yes, Coley is not a good OC, absent he found Kaaya. But I think we have in fact had the lead in about every game this year and many of our big loses, meaning FSU, we had the lead late. If the defense was only as bad as the offense, we beat the noles 2 years in a row. No issue both OC and DC have to go, but come on, if we could only get rid of one WITH AL, which one do we keep? The real problem is Al. He is a total control freak and a horrible coach, see ST. Coley needs to be replace, notice FSU has done much better since he left, but Mark and Al have to lead the way. Making the offense better is merely a way to preserve Al's job. Kaaya can get a couple wins Al's coaching just does not deserve.

The staff kicked out a bunch of Linebackers. EJ, Blue, and Paul would sure look great in the line up right now.
 
But Mike Badgley has scored 30 points on field goals the last 3 games..You mean because you can't score TD's in the red zone we're garbage? Oh, I see your right.....
