Donaldson and Slaton Updates

I could live with a spring ball starting lineup of Donaldson-Darling-Linder-Brown-Odgowu..let KC be the 6th man.

Im ready to just find a brand new 5 starters and rotation. The guys we have now and where they are playing position wise just aint cutting it. If Kaaya is playing behind this same lineup next year what would be different?

Why would brown be inside but odogwu outside? Brown is more athletic and is only around 290.

See this shows the difference in how kids think, donaldson sees early playing time and is going to capitalize on it, slaton going for the trendy school not the school that is best for his career, a lot of times the kids end up transferring, slaton plays day one here IMO

Donaldson said he plans to visit uf, fsu and unc i think. He said he is still solid to miami and said searles told him its a very good chance he starts game 1.

Searles needs to be fired if he really said that to him.

What he should have said is: "I can absolutely, positively, without a shadow of a doubt guarantee and assure you that you will start from Day 1 on ANY spot you so desire on our Offensive Line."

Slaton, like most of those Heritage kids, is a front-runner. Would still take in a second.

Darling is not a guard imo. Plays to **** high, feet isn't all that either. To me he is a RT. Its easy to say ..move this guy to guard or move that guy to guard. You need some brute strength down there at guard..as you can see how McDermott has gotten his lunch ate at times after being kicked inside. Guys that tall are usually ineffective inside, unless in the nfl where the dts are much bigger/taller.

Heritage Kids are front runners and hype. We win we will have a good chance....Slaton is a kid that if he gets here early summer can play day 1 inside.

Slaton can say whatever he wants now, we all know that as soon as the season ends this all goes up in the air and the silly season starts. We get him on an official and he gets to see the actual facts on the ground, he might change his tune.

1 great tackle and moving darling inside changes a lot, also we need a real center

Believe it or not, but Linder was expected to be All-Conference and is on the Remmington Award watch list. I find it hard to believe that he just isn't good enough all of a sudden (yes, i watched him get bullied last game).

Why is Miami the best option for his career? Soley because of early playing time?

Please

Lets be honest, if Slaton comes in early, gets in college shape and goes thru the fall he'll be better than McDermott and Linder. Certainly not worse by any measure. Slaton G and Donaldson LT would be 2 starters. Hopefully Brown can be right tackle and Darling a guard. We would still need another Guard, the Georgia kid. Hillery and Dykstra can redshirt. Maybe a couple big time JC kids. Then 2018 we can take 4 more, 2 guards and 2 tackles.

From what I saw, Brown can play G or T. At this point, I want the best 5 guys out there. Odogwu didnt play horrible from the action he got this year. He can definitely take that next step. Our Guard play is horrible. KC has been disappointing.

The Slaton & Herbert stuff was really just put out there to lift you guys spirits...

They were never coming here, they've been heavy Michigan leads since Spring & nothing has changed.

Well, U of M might have cooled on Herbert. Somebody said they didnt even contact him when they had their bye week.. Slaton too. When you are poppin' like UofM is right now, you can pick and choose whoever you want. They might not be too high on they lists anymore.
