I do understand the sentiment- I'd love to give the middle finger to ESPN and the committee as well for the nonsensical decision. But, is bailing on the bowl game going to help us, other than temporary catharsis? Like you, I have little to no interest in watching us play in the Gator Bowl or another Pop Tarts Bowl, and I expect most of our NFL bound players won't want to play in either game as well. Still, we are bound contractually to participate in a game if invited barring some health or natural crisis, and we do get to gauge where we need help in the portal if we play. Bowl games aren't a reward for a good season any more, now they are just something you have to do. Sucks but that's life.

the best response would be to CANCEL the Notre Dame game next year!

not deprive our team of 15 practices, a real game action, and the experience of travel and bowl season as well as the incoming freshmen have a chance to be around the team. and the money.

As a fan, these bowl games are useless. However, for the team and players invaluable. Tons of players make their biggest development jump during this time. There’s a break, and then basically a second fall camp for this bowl game. Add in, opt outs, it opens the window for a lot of guys to get some serious meaningful snaps.
 
Yall need to get this idea of a temper tantrum. We are getting shafted but we still had only to split UL and SMU. Play the game obliterate whoever they put in front and move on to next season. This idea is for bich schools like FSU and Texas. They shafted us in 2000.

Beating ND is why we aint #17 after losing to SMU and UL. People are 1 track minded.

We’re a bit deeper in our roster than we were back then. Give the young lions some extra playing time in their development.

Plus Mario can use that time to assess our next portal acquisition on opposing team.

I'd like to see Nickel play a half more so than seeing Beck play another game.

The focus should be on preparing for 2026. 2025 season is over and done with if we don't make the playoffs. It's time to start developing the roster for next season

11 wins puts us in a potential top 5 preseason position which we see means a lot.
