The play that forced him out of the game was just a routine pass. Either he has tremendous heart and played through pain all week, hiding it from the staph

The medical team cleared him to play despite being clearly hurt

That depends on the injury. Structural issue that requires surgery or soft tissue like a strained muscle.

If he did any damage to his rotator cuff against Duke, I know from experience you can work around some of that with arm angles.

You're ok in one arm slot, but not another. (Like his sidearm throw away where he aggravated it)
