The difference, to me, is that Diaz can't do much of ANYTHING right as a head coach. From personnel decisions to clock management, and everything in between. Golden needed to get rid of a defensive philosophy that sucked. Everything about Diaz's coaching sucks.

To me, the situations just aren't the same.

Golden was an experienced HC who was already 4 years into failure when 2014 was coming up. He spent 4 years with a terrible defense under his watch and refused to get rid of anyone.
Diaz is a first time HC who has a lot of problems to deal with within the team itself, and the performance of the offense is the biggest thing. He's already in his attempt to make a change.

Manny and Shannon are better comparisons. Both promoted DC's from a failed staff, and were part of the crap culture they "inherited".

i will say that randy didnt have close to the same resources manny has right now to do this job. that being said, both are *** and shouldnt have been hired to be an HC here as their first time gig.

there def is a culture problem but that falls on the HC to weed them out. if you dont want kids ******* around, start booting them when they **** up. he allowed jarren to come back and start. he allowed JT back. he allowed all the kids who were out to come back and play the same.

Randy and Golden both didn't have anything close to what Diaz has been given. Pathetic.

Yup, much better comparison. Even then, like someone mentioned, Diaz had the upperhand.

Shannon actually didn't have many connections either, which made trying to be cheap with coordinator highers even harder.

Amen to that. If they gave Shannon 1.5 mil for an OC, he'd have done better than Manny.

No. 2014 I still had hope Butch would be the coach once Golden got melted down. Then Mark frigging got fired and hope melted instead. Now only despair remains.
 
It’s worse now that we k is this disease runs up through the staff, Admin And Bots. The entire program is in shambles. We need Highsmith to run the football ops. Manny’s dad destroyed the OB, and now Manny is destroying the team and hiding from competent oversight. They’re trying to wait it out and hope the fans anger subsides.
