Figurehead? Like bobby bowden was? You're crazy. Saban is the engine that runs Bama..STILL and maybe even more so now than ever before. Nobody else makes that program what it is. The way they churn through assistant coaches yet maintain their level of excellence is proof. How many head coaches have come out of Bama in the past 12 years? And no dropoff in production. Remember two years ago when EVERYBODY was jumping ship (when we got Enos)? Everybody thought that was the end of the Bama dynasty..every player left early. They lost like 6+ assistant coaches. And here they are.

Dabo is more of a figurehead than Saban is. He's a rah rah culture guy but Saban is a strategist/technician as well.

Although I agree he is aging.
 
and what would he do, he is doing the one thing he is best at and presumably loves doing although you wouldn't know it to look at him doing it.
 
He doesn’t need to retire, but Miami need someone to go watch exactly how he has done what he has done so Miami can duplicate it. Coker let OSU watch exactly what was going on here the previous years before we played them in 02
 
Saban is feared-respected and loved by his teams. They will go thru **** for him. Miami gets a coach like that we will be good
 
He will die at his football office desk while eating oatmeal cream pies with at least 2-3 more ships under his belt, he ain't going anywhere.

Until his interview after winning I thought he looked drained the last couple games and possibly ready to hang it up. I was shocked to see no slip and sliding or cigars after winning this National Championship. He didnt even tweet anything cool either.

Must be, because all of his former assistants have been super-duper successful on their own.
 
As much as I can't stand him, the guy is like Michael Jordan: completely ruthless and never stops. I could actually see him stop (besides death) if one of his old assistants passes him (not just beats him in one game which has yet to happen) as an overall program.

He's nowhere near being a figurehead and constantly adapts his program. It's all he knows.

This past year they lost Cochran (strength trainer) to Georgia and the thought was they would lose their 'edge' on the field. He ends up hiring two cutting edge/analytics strength training and performance guys who do a lot of high tech targeted individual performance and injury prevention work and they looked even better on the field than with Cochran. He evolved his offense, he creatively integrated the analyst role in his program, etc. and every year he seems to build up his infrastructure more and more.

With their losses and breaking in Bill O'Brien we can nip their *** in game 1. Manny will reign supreme!

He really has a career in commercials if he tries hard at it. Have you seen his AFLAC commercials? Could be his calling honestly. . .

Coaches retire when they actually start feeling their age. Doesn't look like he can tell he's 69 yet.
 
If I were Saban on top of the college football world why would I want to retire?...I’d want to get as many NC’s I could...also, how many young beavers do u think this guy is tapping there?..he has his choice all over..
