does richt make 16 recruiting class

Well if eason comes, that's a 5 star. Word is victor is going to give miami a serious look, cook might flip, word is chances with hardaman has went up, richt might can get that rb from texas.

Mcloud is coming back, i think richards might come back, and richt may put us in play for burns. Forgot bethel likely is coming.

It might be crazy to think he gets all of them but i t believe he is going to snag a few guys.

I think we will pull a great class but not ranked top 3. Looking at 247 they have some of our commits rated poorly i.e. Tyler Byrd, Pinkey, & Jackson all as 3 stars. As long as we get the good kids I couldnt care less what their rank is.

Needs:

Keep all current commits
Jackson and Mullins need to qualify
Pass rusher to replace Uche
Bring back McCloud and Richards
DT


If all of that happens, I am a very happy man.

Byrd will get that 4th star. So will Pinckey. Jackson might be pushed out. Didnt he leave Hallandale High and move to J-ville or something? thats a weird situation.

Just get the guys that decommitted back in the fold..(Richards, McCloud, Uche) and get a few uncommitted kids to come our way that might have not looked at us previously..(BVictor, PYoung, BBurns, Fils-Aime), grab the kids who might be on the fence (Bruce, JCook, KThomas) and grab a few of the UGA kids who want to follow him (Eason, MYoung or MHardeman maybe?)...mix in a few surprises (Mullen maybe? Never know) ....And you have yourself a top 5 class.

The recruiting board will be an exciting place to be for the next 60 days.

We are 14 now. We will finish top 3.

Relationships matter, he is arriving very late to the party and does not have an OC and DC... I think you need to be looking at the 17 class to see his recruiting effect.

He is not late. Richt is a big name coach that recruits already know. From what i'm hearing recruits in the 16 class are buzzing about this hire.
 
Question is..Do you guys think we bring in a big class? I know one of Richts first orders of business is to get rid of any trash thats taking up a scholie..Dont want to name names but we know who they are. Guys who have been hanging around for years but never seem to make the 2-3 deep and are going into the RS-JR or RS-SR year.

I think we could end up with 25 at least, no?
 
If he brings that 5* QB I assume we lose Alison. Don't know how many OL we need this year, but I assume it's more than the 1 we have and I'm positive we need some DTs. Right now it's not just quality, we've got some holes in this class. That said, I would expect a to 10 finish, possibly top 5 if Richt can really kill it.

I'm not familiar with how this goes, but do new coaches clean house before they've actually seen the players at practice? Seems to me like you'd wait until the spring to decide to get rid of guys.

At Georgia he had the #11 and #19 DTs in the country, both from in-state.


But there are a lot of other top DTs this year in Georgia - plus the #2 DT in the country is from the Tampa area and remains uncommitted.

Also, we had Keyshon Camp from Lake Gibson committed earlier in the year. He later committed to USC, but with Sarkisian's dismissal he's listed as a "soft" commit. Maybe we could sway him back to Miami...

Agree. Def agree with waiting until after Spring ball. And any guy who he feels was a "Golden special" and is not UM caliber in the new definition of the word I hope is politely told to transfer elsewhere.
 
Here's the thing - every class usually gets that "new coach bump." HOWEVER, this class was already shaping up to be great, and the kind of "bump" a guy like Richt gives you with his deep connections in SEC country could be ridiculous. I think we'll lose some kids (not many) and add some kids who may never have been considering us until now.

Thing is Richt has surely been down here in the schools recruiting already. Not like Golden who had been recruiting jags for temple.
 
Recruiting is all about excitement and momentum. It's snake oil selling. With the excitement and heat around UM hiring Richt we will finish top 5.

Everyone will get caught up in the wave of excitement and energy, and Richt is an absolute king in the living room. Moms swoon at his rap.

He will close like we've never seen with this class. People have been dying for UM to show some sign of life and commitment to winning. It just happened.
 
This will not be a top 5 class, he will not jump Bama, LSU, OSU, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State, Ole Miss, Auburn and even Florida. These teams will not stand still while Miami grabs all these big names that will be clamoring to join Richt.....many of them are poised to grab some of the remaining 5 star and a handful of 4 stars.....Kirby Smart is a pretty good salesman himself.

Top Ten will be a challenge, but he has a shot, but I think taking it up to top 15 is a big win and he needs to start today working the 2017's for a huge class next year.

If they finish ahead of Clemson, FSU and North Carolina, that is a Huge Win....

There is a huge DT on the UGA commit list i'd love to see on ours. I am optimistic our DT recruiting turns around now. We'll see.
