No. Clemson will beat ND by 10. Bonus pick: Oklahoma for the upset. Saban is probably going to start the Flyin Hawaiian, who is probably 65% right now. Oklahoma is going to jump out to a lead, but Bama isn't going to have the juice to mount another comeback this time.

If Lawrence is gonna have a freshman moment it will happen in the playoff. That’s a big IF considering he’s been good all year. Sooners D is booty they can’t win.
On another note saw Toby Keith at joes tonight. Rockin his Oklahoma hat

They dont even need him to do much. they can run the ball all over nd. You forgot what we did to Nd last year. Clemson can beat them with lethal simplicity. Im dropping $100 on clemson to cover

I hate to say but Clemson is too good all around. Clemson off to a quick lead. They win by 10. ND is not built to come back.

I think they do, all depends if they can rattle the freshman qb, I know the kid isnt a normal freshman but he can have one of those games. Clemson can be passed on. With Lawrence out they can double #42, buy some time for their qb, they have some weapons outside. **** ND tho, hope they get their doors blown off

OU defense is just pathetic

If they had a better D then maybe

Sooners allow 8.2 yards per pass attempt. That is last in the Big 12, and that is difficult to do, given the annually inept pass defense in that conference. Only TCU allowed below 7.0 this season.

It would be unprecedented for an 8.2 defense to win a playoff game. That is the worst in the history of the playoffs, and also the prior versions -- Bowl Coalition and BCS. Every previous team allowing 7.1 or above either lost the title game in the earlier versions, or lost the semifinal game since the final four was established.

However, the one team that nearly ruined that trend was Oklahoma last season. They had a weak pass defense but it was in the 7.5 range as opposed to the truly dreadful 8.2 of 2018. The Sooners obviously had Georgia beat until deep into the game. It takes a freakish offense to overcome the pathetic defense. I'd have to see it but I won't totally discount it. I'd love to see Alabama beaten, to protect the legacy of the 2001 Canes as best ever.

Clemson, BTW, is allowing a rather ordinary 6.3 YPA. That is not awful but 27th in the nation and not up to the standards of the typical national champion.

Notre Dame allows 5.4 and Alabama 5.9. That is where you typically want to be to win the championship.
