The chair literally verbatim said last night idle teams can move when asked specifically about Miami. At no point did he say we cannot jump ND.
Yes. Idle teams can move up or down. Why would he say otherwise. I mean they obviously don’t want to tell a fanbase not to watch their show, that’d be bad for business.

The have consistently told us that ND is better than Miami, and they have already compared the two teams. I get wanting to keep hope alive, but we ain’t getting in.

BYU is the buffer this week, because they can't release a ranking in which we are 1 spot below ND.

Think there is a 0.0% chance if BYU loses by just a single point that we aren't ranked ahead of them. You lose; you drop.

They set up the rankings like they did this week so that: 1. Bama is guaranteed a spot, absent a Simpson injury 2. ND isn't guaranteed a spot, but is the overwhelming fav to get in 3. There's still a scenario in which we will get in.
I just don’t believe this. If BYU loses by 3 points, they will leave them at 11. Watch

Maybe. This could all be a banana in the tailpipe situation.

I’m basing my opinion on BYU being the buffer for us jumping ND on this. I’m not denying this could just be the goalposts being moved again. I’m not naive. I just keep getting hung up on the committee would have to move us over BYU or drop ND behind them. The last two weeks nothing has happened that can cause them to course correct that. It’s their rankings that have backed them into this corner. I think Bama jumping ND and a BYU loss = us in the CFP. I very well may be wrong, I am just reading this entire thing that way.

Bama jumping ND was to protect bama if they should take a loss to uga, because there is absolutely no way they will penalize a team for playing in the SEC CG. Sankey would burn the committee members, and their families. Including their pets.

They’ve already given us their reason (excuse) for keeping ND ahead of us.

Man don’t fall for it guys. They ******* us over. They have already decided ND over Miami. Stringing us along to get everyone to watch.
This very much could be possible but they have opened themselves up for more criticism if they leave us out and keep ND in just for some ratings.

No.

They've made their bias against us clear. They've thrown up obstacles at every turn:
  • Weren't considering the head-to-head with Notre Dame because we weren't in the same 'cluster'
  • Wanted us to win convincingly in November
  • Moved up Alabama in the rankings for limping home against a ****-poor Auburn, taking them out of the conversation
  • Now won't consider the head-to-head with Notre Dame because we're not 'back-to-back'

We're at 12 when you know Conference Champions are going to slip into the Playoffs. We're a place holder until they decide which cannon fodder they want in.
