I think the committee is actually dumb enough to leave us at:

#10 Notre Dame
#11 Miami

They're going to slowly reveal the rankings on Sunday and show BYU at #12 and all the Miami fans are going to get excited.....

And then reveal #11 and it'll be us....

Worn out, battered & confused. The process has been exposed as ill-conceived & unexplainable- but for favoring the SEC brand. The committee oddly seems to evaluate individual teams on varying criteria. One week we need to evaluate teams within a pod with 2 or 3 others. Later, teams need to be back-to-back. Give up - surrendered.

You guys are funny… nothing this weekend is going to change the good ol boy’s attitudes in that room towards Miami. When they were in their 20s Miami was winning more titles than the entire SEC and they will do everything they can to stop that from happening again. It’s more likely that Vandy and Texas get in than Miami. Deserving has nothing to do with it.

I think the committee wants us in and is going max drama for obvious reasons.

We're a money/juicy storyline and that's good for bidness, esp bc we are capable of being competitive.

CFPC potentially has a win win on their hands by letting us in -
1. We become cinderalla and make a deep run or even an entertaining 1 game? Win for them - They pretend to be champions of virtue.

2. They let us in and we get SMU'd 1 st round, they stilll win because they have a told you so moment from which to draw from whillst making adjustments for the next iteration - We get to be the textbook example of why they cook things up in their favor for next time. Process is already exposed as flawed this time around, so they can afford to let a truly cusp team that happens to have blu-blud notoriety create $ drama and/or be a scapegoat moving forward, since they hate us anyways.

I think our brand history helps here and I am a mope through and through.

The justified clamour over our current situation is easier dustbinned if they let us in and hope we flail, or they knew all along that we were exactly the cinderella/aging starlet that the expanded system was built for.

I thought this. Part of me still does. But maybe I’m just exhausted since Saturday. We’re two spots behind yet somehow they don’t consider us in the same pod? Us being one spot a part isn’t going to convince me they’ll do the right thing. But why even tease us and move us up to begin with?

Leaving us at 12 just makes me feel like they already made their decision regardless of what happens Saturday. The only thing I can think of that might change something is enough rage media to make the CFP think longer and harder about completely disregarding our H2H matchup. So far, not much. I can’t believe their justification for moving Alabama up a spot. It was comical. If they had moved us to #11, I’d have a shred of hope. We haven’t had any luck getting teams like OU and Bama to drop games. Nothing has really gone our way there and I’m a bit over it.

I’ve seen people say BYU winning helps us (it doesn’t) because it would put us next to ND. But that will grant a Big 12 team a CFP spot because TTU is not falling out of the 12. BYU winning would knock ND out of anything and there wouldn’t be spots for either of us.
