Something tells me that Manny’s hiring was a demand by Richt in exchange for forgoing his buyout.
TBH, I think the AD should have told Richt he could do whatever the **** he wanted with his staff, but he better perform in 2019. Then, after Richt went 7-5 this year with himself calling plays, his son as QB coach, Searles as Oline coach and Banda and Patke as co-DCs, Mark Richt would be fired. And with Manny probably having a bad year at Temple, we find a different head coach than Manny.
I think his personality is well suited to recruiting but he needs a ton of work as a coach. And he would have looked a lot better if his QB and Kicker weren't complete ***.so you think he’s cool and that means he should be the head coach here.
fans like u are why we suck. completely clueless.
So you suppose Richt being the puppeteer of Miami's football program is less silly. High IQ post, new friend.
I fear that the Mark pick was our last chance.I want to believe.
Same as Al Golden and Randy Shannon before them. I really don't want to believe that we have someone who will leave the program in a worse shape than he found it. So am I hopeful. But also realistic.
That said, I am not relishing the idea that Manny is destined for failure as some seem to, because yet another failed coach means serious ramifications for the program.
Saltdaddy i'm with you man. Manny should have never been hired in the first place, I wonder if some here think he shoulda turned it down lol. Prolly the same folls that thought BD shoulda turned down Cleveland. I think Manny is gonna have trouble hiring a proven oc/DC, he dont have the yank in cfb to do that, not yet anyway. He's gonna have to recruit an up and comer and hope he gets lucky. I don't think i've ever seen Manny outcoach anybody going back to Texas, there's gonna have to be alot o luck involved for sure. It's happened here more than onceI think he knows what's wrong. He's stated it even before season began. It's not like he's not trying to fix it. He is just new at this and going through some lumps. In hindsight should never have been hired. Not his fault he is essentially under a fundraiser and marketer who is just pretending to be AD. Not sure Manny can fix the mess but never should have been put in that position. I will still root for the team and its success regardless.
Manny didn’t inherit a culture problem, he created one. He also hand picked this atrocious staff people want to let him change. He’s horrific and anyone who still has hope is deluded.

He knows his QB and Kicker were a disaster. Let's see what happens year 2.
If he recruited nothing but linemen the next 2 years i'd be happy, our linemen have been ****** *****'s for 15 Damm years. You can have all those hi flyin gold teeth hotdogs that run 4.3, if there aint no hole their useless. Star struck coachesExcept hes proven to be a lousy recruiter bc the kids see him as a corny fraud.
“He knows his QB and kicker sucked” yes and so does everyone in the country. That doesnt qualify him to be HC. He was here for four years so its not like these problems were just sprung on him.
Eh, 2nd best recruiting class in a conference where we were maybe the 6th best team ...Except hes proven to be a lousy recruiter bc the kids see him as a corny fraud.

It's not what you think of as the University of Miami. It's a middle tier program, with unlimited potential because of its location and history, that has never won it's conference and had one good year in 15. All things considered, criticizing his recruiting seems misplaced. Its the University of Miami. In fact the 15th ranked class after the year 1 bump is the worst class any of our previous bad coaches was able to get.
I support Manny , it was a world wind crazy time him leaving and returning everyone was ecstatically happy even the board went nuts with support, yes it did don’t go Adam Schiff on us here now when Enos got picked we were all giggling happy with Saban’s snappy reply when Enos left for the U .
Now we’re second guessing the whole staff , I don’t think we interviewed many OC and DC correctly being in a rush to fill coaching positions as other teams were also searching.
So with all this happening plus recruiting in reality HOW could we not have coach growing pains like the players have ?
It’s everyone’s FIRST year gee wiz yes I support him.
Recruiting has been great, we need to get his team under him.
Question:
WHY ISN’T DOLPHINS COACH BEING PUSHED TO BE FIRED AFTER A CRAPPY FIRST YEAR?
