Someone mentioned Saban's assistants as performing well after leaving his staff. I don't think that is true. I don't think his tree is impressive at all.
I think its pretty good actually. Nick Saban's coaching tree has varying levels of success
Add in Smart recently to UGA and we will see how he does.
Wait a minute, how is it decided which coach comes from which tree? Smart started under Richt, and that article claims McIlwein under saban, but that is a stretch, in my book.
Actually he was under Saban at LSU back in 04.

so you don't think mark dantonio, Jim mcelwain, jimbo fisher, jason Garrett, and josh McDaniels is impressive..Someone mentioned Saban's assistants as performing well after leaving his staff. I don't think that is true. I don't think his tree is impressive at all.
Again, when is it decided who's tree a coach comes from? You randomly pick some spot a dude was at to decide? To credit Saban with McElwain is borderline absurd. I mean, to credit Saban with McDaniels is hilarious, since he was a GA for one year at MSU.
Consistency please.
Agree with Chise and that's why I showed Smart's tree.
