This staffs use of its personnel boggles my mind. Why do they use Dobard like he is some super dynamic TE? Its not like he stretches the field, runs great routes, has terrific hands or a large catch radius.
His best asset is his blocking. He should be used as an inline blocker in short yardage situations only. It makes little sense splitting him out wide or putting him in the slot like we did on the 4th & goal call because it provides little to no mismatch. If you want to spread a defense out or create a mismatch in the slot then Njoku or Herndon need be on the field. If we have either of those two on the field during that 4th down that's an easy six.
Instead they had Dobard in the slot have him run an out & in while he lumbers to get in and out of his route essentially killing the play.
