Do you wish Richt hadn’t been presurred into retirement?

To make it clear, the main benefit of Richt as HC this year is that he’d probably get a pink slip on Sunday December 1.

We wouldn’t be stuck with him through the 2021 season at minimum like we are with Manny.

Mark never won big at a superb football power and got fired because of it. Like him as I might, Miami needs a big strong personality that players and assistant coaches fear not like. Butch was the only choice since. By the end of this year, he would have a team that could stay on field with the best.

It would have spared us from having Manny as head coach.

If Richt coRched it up this year (which he probably would have), we’d fire him. His replacement wouldn’t be Diaz, since Diaz would be such a disaster at Temple.
Hindsight is 20/20 but yes, now I do wish that.

Yeah I didn’t even think about the heart attack.

That probably would have meant that we’d have an interim HC for the rest of the year. And a permanent new coach for 2020.

Which beats the **** out of having Manny as HC.

Richt wasn't forced out. He was being forced to make changes he didn't want to make. Had Richt stayed, we'd have a new O in place. Now we don't know if it would be better or worse than last year, or this year, but we do know Manny Diaz wouldn't be the head coach this year. Problem is, IF the O didn't produce, Richt steps down, or makes UM fire him. Guess who UM goes out and hires at the end of this season.... You guessed it. Charmin "Dance Party" Diaz.

Bottom line, Blake James wanted Diaz, and it was just a matter of time. Now what's he going to do with this turdburger?
