Building the U

Building The U was established with one goal in mind, make the University of Miami Athletic Program better. We are a non-profit, not a part of the University, and we have nobody from the school on our Board of Directors. We plan on expanding the Board to include more former Miami Hurricane athletes. We are independent and this allows us to make sure the money we raise will be used where it is needed most. WE decide how it is spent, not the Administration at the school.

Building the U is in the process of becoming qualified under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) as a charitable organization. While the organization’s application is pending, donors are eligible to make tax deductible contributions as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. A copy of our IRS Determination Letter, once obtained, will be available upon request, and posted on this site. We have already been deemed a non-profit in Florida.

We believe in total transparency and whenever something comes up, be it a donation to the school or documentation regarding the charity, we will post it here. If you have any questions the best way to reach us is by email at buildingtheu@gmail.com

Thank you for the interest in Building The U, and GO CANES!!!

All right...now collectively, we must walk the talk.

If you gonna chirp then support the program

I'm surprised the school hasn't tried to shut this down

Sounds like something they would do, assuming this wasn't given the proper blessing

Who gets credit for the donation once the money makes it to the school?

LOL. You guys will send money anywhere. The Director of Building The U is Prince Abagoo Nagamondoo.

Why not just donate to UM's athletics department or contact UM to donate directly to the IPF when that fund raising effort gets rolling?

if i donate $100 to this fund...how much of it actually goes towards the IPF?

if you donate $100, najeh will send you one of the t-shirts he never sent to the people who donated to his documentary

Why would you donate to a middle man when you can donate directly to the same place where the middle man might send a portion of your donation?

I was going to donate to this, but I just got an email from my Mom saying she is over in Europe and has lost her wallet, I've got to send her money fast. Stupid me didn't even know she was travelling.

Join the Hurricane Club. Give your money directly to the athletic department.

LOL.... So the gator fans actually did go through with this. Just go check out their football forums.. lol... dammit mane..

I taped 2 quarters to a post card. I hope they get it and it doesn't get diverted to an unintended purpose.
