Yes, he's a really good coach. I can't see FSU doing any better.

really good coaches don't lose 38-3 or w/e it was to boston college with a team full of nothing but blue chip 5 star recruits

he's immensely overrated

that nole team is loaded, ZERO excuses for the **** show this season

Winston and Cook were the scrong bond that held that team together for its run. Coaching turnover always has its rebuild years and off-year recruiting woes.

They'll get a decent hire, but who knows how they'll pan out. Taggart might be good, he might not. Either way UF and FSU's misfortunes are lulz-worthy as they were the loudest saying Miami would never be good again, blah blah blah.

F em.

I don’t think he’s an elite coach but he’s been a pain in the *** since he got there (I know we had Shannon and Golden but remains the same).

If they were upgrading I’d be concerned but at this point what proven coach are they going to get? WT will stay at Oregon, Frost to Nebraska.

Would Stoops come out of retirement for fsu?

For those that say they can't find better I disagree. Like it or not, FSU is a highly regarded program. I would bet many high level coaches would line up.

On top of that, I believe all those young up and comers would find this as an ideal spot. Scott Frost, Tom Herman (had he not went to Texas), PJ Fleck, Mike Norvell... All those guys I believe would highly consider and probably take the job if offered.

This train of thought is laughable to me. A guy who has won a NC, recruited prennial top 5 classes, got his teams into Ny6 bowls, is not elite? But an unproven “up and comer” whose done absolulely nothing is a potential upgrade?

This notion that your only elite if you win national titles ever year is out of touch.

Looking at Jimbos resume if he is not elite then aside from Saban and Myer no coach is elite.

Instability is never a good thing. The next coach will face a ton of pressure, cheat, and get caught. Book it.

I hear they might make the playoffs since they lost their starting QB for the year in game one. With him on the field they would be undefeated.

I think it's good for the Miami/Fsu matchup in I think they become more beatable but I think this is bad for the acc and bad for our sos. The acc loses one of our top coaches.

Can anyone name an active coach not named Saban or Meyer with a better resume than Jimbo? "Up and comer" coaches arw like incoming freshmen. Everyone thinks they're an upgrade before ever proving anything against real competition.

Too much drama in Noles land and I don't know if Jimbo will stay, and money talks bull**** walks.
Yes... for the Canes sake I believe Jimbo's departure is a good thing as it will help our recruiting efforts. Record shows he's a good coach.

I would be curious to see the list of coaches that survive a 5-6 record at a school that expects titles, can leave on their own terms instead of getting fired, and gets a raise to do it. Can't be very long.

To address the OP, I do not think the replacement will be an upgrade. The school will not swim in the .500 range, but I expect them to be more of a 8 or 9 win type team perenially than pre season top 5 talk type team for the immediate future.

All I'm saying is they bring it top 3 classes every year. Very similar to Bama but not similar results. Jimbo lost 1 game in 2 yrs with Winston and 21 in the 6 seasons without. That's what, 3.5 losses a yr when Winston is not there.

You should cheer for a team in the SEC, you would fit right in. Smh wants our rival and biggest recruiting competition to be really good gtfoh

They almost beat us with a freshman bean pole QB. He is an elite recruiter and OC. May not be the best HC, but he's top. I'll be glad he's gone

No ***** given about fisher but turmoil in trailer town is a good thing. Look, Bobby Bowden was an elite coach in his prime. There's a reason those **** sticks have been to twenty something bowls. Even when Bobby was beating everyone else down, Miami still beat that *** regularly. Miami is coming back strong so I don't care who is coaching up there. Miami will whip that *** anyway. Anyone, anywhere, anytime.
