I like Mark Richt the man. And maybe in another life or in some alternate dimension, Mark Richt is the guy to bring us back. But not in this life or this dimension.

Whatever mojo he ever had is gone.

Much like Randy Shannon...I don't hate Mark Richt, but I'd like to give him a gold watch and tell him to enjoy retirement. And, at the end of the day, its his fault. He should have hired an Offensive Coordinator when he was hired and he should have hired better assistants. Most of the ones he has now are journeymen coaches.

Fully expect a "Breaking News: Miami Head Coach Mark Richt stepping down" update on my phone tomorrow morning...one can dream.

How can you all not love this half asleep, dispassionate looking face in your football coach/leader?

He’s the head coach not some fool on a message board it’s a different position can’t be losing your cool every time something doesn’t go as planned on the field...

Up until the last 2 games he had my full support. Certainly questioning his judgement now just like everyone else.
If he makes the necessary and obvious changes over the offseason (Hire an OC and fire Searels) then I will continue to support CMR.
You have to believe he wants to win a NC at his alma mater.

CMR walked away from playcalling at Georgia. Maybe he will do it again once he finally realizes the reality you speak of. I want him as HC. Not OC.

Let's pretend he walks away from his OC responsibilities. Remember Bro that as a HC he has hired the coaches that have screwed up our Special Teams, Offensive Line, QB's, Has recruited the players that are not panning out, etc., etc., etc. Looks to me that the dude is just not very good at anything to do with Football HC duties.

I'm sure Mark Richt is a great man but I can't support him any more. If he would actually remove his ego and give up control of the stone ages offense to someone who can bring us into the current century, it would show me that he's a true leader. What we're seeing right now is nothing more than Al Golden on the offensive side of the ball. No way that's worth $4 million per year.

Yes, as head coach. Needs to make changes on the offense. Get a OC and run a pro style O. **** all this spread ****. Build the identity of toughness and running the ball when/have too. Can our problems be fixed, yes. Does it take a new coach to get it fixed here, I don’t think so. Am I out on this coach yet, no. Always pointed to year 4 as the benchmark. The worse thing that happened to our fanbase might’ve been 10-0 last year.
2 years b4 MR 6-7 & 8-5
MR takes over
9-4
10-3
??
We’ve seen progression but still haven’t found a QB and the oline we have signed seem to be a year away from being ready.
We have a emotional *** fanbase. Always will. Tried to run butch out of town. If MR can’t get it done here idk who can. We not getting saban or urban

I’d prefer the program not sink to the depths of the 58-0 loss to Clemson. Some will post we’re that bad, but I do not believe we are. The roster is improved but has holes at QB and OL. The program infrastructure is dramatically improved from a spending perspective, and there is the IPF. The issue is coaching.

If I were hired as AD I’d ask Richt for an evaluation of all coaching staff members. What they each did well, what each didn’t do well. Explain how each can improve. I’d ask for the same self-evaluation of his own performance. I’d ask what changes would he or is he considering. I’d ask what support does he need from me, and from the school.

If he was willing to make changes on the staff but needed more money, I’d ask for names of who’d he would let go, and who would be on his list potential replacements.

I would also contact football people outside of the program for their confidental opinions. Former players, former coaches like JJ, and others without ties to Miami. Assume I am a well-connected AD. Assume I understand the BOT’s goals for the athletic programs, specifically football. Do they want to be a perennial CFP and ACC title contender? Or are they content with 9 win seasons with lesser bowls, and an occasional ACC title?

If Richt gave me a song-and-dance about the players not executing and he’d retain his complete staff I’d start back-channel conversations regarding a new HC.

Naw; I can’t support Richt the coach either. Case in point, I believe it was the 3rd qtr. we stopped BC on 3rd down to force 4th down. There was an illegal formation penalty against BC. BC was in a position to punt, yet Richt accepted the penalty. Not only did this give BC another opportunity to gash our def, which they were doing, but it also took off more precious time off the clock. That’s a **** poor, rookie mistake coaching error.

These errors are not isolated; they’ve happened several times. So I dunno if I can trust his CEO abilities either. UGA fans started to feel the same way even after OC responsibilities were taken.
