Do you ever just take a minute...

and think, **** how things have turned in two short years, we're on the cusp of an ACCCG appearance with a legitimate shot at the facking playoffs while our two most hated rivals can't get out of their own way.

It's Great to be....

Yes, on a daily basis! For those of us that bleed O&G it’s an amazing time. Over the past 15 years I began to wonder if we would ever be truly relevant again. With an emphatic yes I can say we are. Regardless of what the rest of th year brings we have turned the corner. The disarray in tally and CANESville is the cherry on top of the sundae!!!

I just wonder if Brian Kelley himself is prepared for what he's about to walk into, it may come as a shock to him, wonder if he consulted Lou

Yeah I'm enjoying canes football for real. I've been a fan since 05 so I have only witnessed 1 good canes team. 05 squad is still my favorite no matter wins/loses.

Dude i've been negging you to the cot**** basement because you're on this board and it's painfully obvious that you don't know jack **** about the Canes, the great Canes teams. But dawg, if you became a fan in 2005, I kinda get it, and I also owe you a little respect and maybe even an apology. You have known nothing but mediocrity. Us old timey Canes understand mediocrity, but we merely persevered through the low points. We have always known what our team is capable of because we've been there and seent it. You haven't. All you've known is mediocrity, yet you're a fan any way. Buckle up, son. It's about to be one **** of a ride.

I'm just as much a Dolphins fan but this has made them irrelevant this year. Especially because it's a team that lacks character (the Phins)

I used to hold the Dolphins and the Canes pretty much equal, many years ago, but now there have been decades - not just a couple years, but decades - of stale, boring football with that team....and really the NFL in general. Gase's decision to sign Cutler was pretty much the last straw for me. I haven't watched one minute of Dolphins football this whole year.

Even when the Canes haven't been good, they've still been more fun to watch than the Dolphins. We almost always have at least a small handful of great athletes on both sides of the ball capable of making an explosive play at any time. There are flashes of brilliance even in our crummy seasons. With the Dolphins, it's just grinding, relentless mediocrity, and I'm done with it. Done with the NFL, too.

Mark Richt has done what many thought were impossible, the future is even brighter than now, new brand of Canes are going to learn and feel what is means to be a Miami Hurricane!! Go Canes.

U R right, haven't watched more than 3 or 4 quarters of NFL this year have missed 3 or 4 minutes of canes live but watched them later.

Also have to note that CMR, has not only done a great job on less than 2 years, he has put together a real good staff and monstrously good recruiting classes. This is just the beginning.

i will say this, richt hire was A+. tell me who you would rather have (saban excluded) at this point. i can find no one.

I wanted Richt before wanting Richt was cool.
Back on grassy when we got rid of Shannon I said Richt would be the perfect fit for us. He is a good coach and a True Cane. He was not available back then though.
Glad UGA got rid of him eventually.

Its been amazing to see fellas. 13 straight wins, the aggressive defense, explosive plays on offense, and the rejuvenated fan base. It has been a long time since we have created this kind of buzz on and off the field. Coach Richt and his staff have changed the culture of the program and recently, Coach Diaz has brought that Miami swag back with the turnover chain! This new generation has never seen this type of Miami team and I think the college football world is not ready for what they are about to see on Saturday. I cannot wait for Saturday, it really is the biggest game we have played since the 2002 championship game in my opinion. Enjoy the ride guys [ ] _ [ ]

This is an amazing year and it's awesome to realize where we are.

Everything about this team is special - we have a QB that has gigantic balls of steel, who is still very very green and will continue to improve with every snap he takes.

A team that is playing with house money and has absolutely nothing to lose - ACC Coastal all but wrapped up (Goal #1 ), with everything in front of them and again a young team that is still improving every week...

A nasty DL that lives in the opponents' backfield, and not only lives there but delivers pain on **** near every play...and plays music on the scattered body parts just to add insult to injury...

A corps of DB's that have exceeded expectations in so many ways - Michael Jackson I'm looking at you son - **** you are ballin' out

A recruiting class coming together that should strike fear in every program out there, it's full of young studs and we are just getting started...

Our in-state rivals getting battered and beaten every single week...

A legitimate coaching staff that is widely respected...

And the **** Turnover Chain which has become a phenomenon in the sport...

I love everything about this team, everything, and it is so long overdue.

The best part is we are just getting started here!

I'm not going to lie, when we lost 58-0 to Clemson I asked myself the same thing. I started to worry about recruits not even being old enough to remember our most recent great teams. I worried about whether we'd get the right coach and how many years it'd be before we were back. I can't believe the amazing job Richt has done in such a short period of time. I'm enjoying this season more than any in 15 years. And the best part? This type of success is here to. We're building something special, something sustainable. This is just the tip of the iceberg, yet we may make the **** playoffs right freakin' now!

That's what's got to make you feel good about it all, is the fact that it's not like we're peaking with a team of veterans and this is our one shot.
We still haven't hit our stride yet.

If we win this game tomorrow the WORLD will be talking about the Miami Hurricanes again. We will make the Furbaums and the Gheyheisals look like the trolls they are. Nobody will be talking about Alabaga or UGA. It will be all about “THE U”. I will be inthat stadium tomorrow night screaming my lungs out until I have no voice. I hope we run them out on a rail.

JHall and I discussed here recently. No matter what happens the rest of the way this year, I will be super excited about the 2017 season.

Two years ago we had:

* Banners flying over an empty stadium before every game

* A fan base seemingly at war with the UM administration

* A incompetent head coach who seemed to hate his own players.

* A civil war was brewing within the UM board of trustees

* A midget marxist running the university like it was her own personal slush fund.

And no end to any of this in sight. What a difference 24 months has made.

Once again.... It's Great to be...
A Miami hurricane!

Yup. First hit me when I made it a point to watch the playoffs show on Tuesday. For the last decade we've spent this time of year trying to figure out how many teams in the ACC Coastal had to lose for us to end up in a four-way tie.
