Do we want to compete for coaches this year?

One thing you have to consider is the available coaches if your coach is fired. With Mich, UF, Nebraska all open, so we really want to compete for coached this year. Yes we can go after Cristobal, Butch, Schiano, but of all years this isn't great year to go hunting.

We're not going to get much worse than Golden. If we dish out the money we can compete for a head coach. Those schools having vacancies should not scare Miami. Blake James needs to prove he has a pair.
 
You'll always have coaches being fired every year that you'll have to compete with. Shouldn't be an excuse
 
I heard every school in CFB has a "no fire" clause after next season, except us. It's part of the new contract he signed. We'll be the only available job then.
 
if we're going up against Nebraska, Michigan and UF for coaches we'd get mollywhopped...they can offer more money, way better fan support, etc.

the only first-tier coach and proven winner out there who we'd have first dibs on and a very high chance of getting is Paul Hilton Davis, Jr.

Not every coach is right for each school. UF is the only school who might get a similar coach to us. Michigan and Nebraska play much different football and their coaches wouldn't likely work here.

If a coach wants to win a championship. They only school that is better is UF. Michigan and Nebraska might have money but they can't recruit kids in the South. UF can offer you the best of everything.

Don't think we'd be competing with any of the other schools, I doubt they'd be looking at the same guys.

But yes, absolutely. You want to stick with this POS because we might have to compete for a coach? Even if it is a competition, it's one we should win. There's better coaches than ours getting fired-well, pretty much all of them really-this is ridiculous. I want it done and I want it done a week ago.
 
Not surprised a porster with a username of Al Golden wants to play it safe and is a ***** just like his idol

We arent getting any of the top names nor we are competing for them. Be this year or next we are getting the Schiano, Cristobal, Chuds of the world. And still it'll be an upgrade to Golden.
