Do we respond better to this opening loss to an SEC Team, than the last two?

I think most of us who delve in reality knew this was a possibility against the reigning National Champion that came out looking again, like the best team in the nation with their "next up."

Still, with all the expectations, new coaches, "better" position groups of a new season, there's nothing that snaps you back to reality quicker than an opening loss, even to a very good team. That can effect the psyche of a program/team. Its why AD's often schedule the patsies for an opener, to build confidence. Someone said it elsewhere; we scheduled these SEC teams like we were still the 2001 Canes, while we have a hard time competing in the ACC.

We were more competitive against LSU and UF games and still followed up with 6 and 7 loss seasons...

As experienced as this team is, there’s no excuse for them not to be able to put this spanking behind them and focus on the next 11 games.
