Do we need guys like Thomas?

It’s the coaches job to manage these players. When the best player on the team walks out, at a time and in a matter that can only hurt his career, the staff needs to evaluate how they deal with things.

You don’t know what they did prior to this to try and avoid it. Dude walked out on his hometown team with friends he grew up with, some guys just can’t be helped

Valid point, and in other posts I’ve stated the same. What we do know tho is that Dugans went in on him hard in front of the team for being late, causing him to say F this and leave the team.

I know that’s how ***** usually handled.... but when u have a fragile player, especially your best player, u gotta find another way to do it.

He was our best offensive player. So, yeah, if you want to win, you need guys like JT. Unfortunately, Rick can’t coexist with guys like him. He left UbaGA in a virtual state of probation with all the attrition from his recruiting classes.
Cmon, Franchise, I expect more than this from you. So you support JT's actions over the last month? Sh-t, really over the last year+? You're cool with him showing up late to practices/meetings and then dropping F bombs on staff when they appropriately pull rank on him for it? I can't imagine you are.

Can't have that sh-t, bro, no matter how talented the kid is.

Why ZERO responsibility on JT's shoulders, man?!? Its all "coaches shoulda done this, coaches gotta treat his fragile a-s this way, etc". Wtf! How bout some culpability on the kid who has been a quitting diva b-tch since he was in HS? You're ok with a kid causing dissent in the lockerroom, showing up late for **** and then laying into the staff when they call him out?

For fvck sake, man, the richt hatred around here has turned into total blinded tunnel vision.

Kid made a stupid decision. He’s obviously got problems, and needs to be disciplined.

I’m just saying do it In a way that’ll be constructive for the player and the team. Dugans did the opposite.

Did JT ever take over a game & win it?
Stats over the last 2 years,, dime a dozen in P5 programs.
Our best offensive player?
How far we have declined under Richts "leadership"..

there is no way you can miss practices and position meetings and remain on a college football team. Sh*t aint high school..but these kids have no idea. Its juts like the Ohio State kid that just wanted to transfer back hom to fla without having to sit out a year. Trevon Grimes.

I don’t know what he did at practice, and neither do you. There’s almost always an onslaught of leaks that always paint the player as incorrigible after something like this happens. There’s never a drop of info from Camp Rick in years. Yet as soon as this happens there’s all kinds of specific **** that paints Thomas as a total dyckbag. I don’t buy the sudden free flow of info when that ****’s been on lockdown for 3 years under Rick.

All I know for certain is that he was our best offensive player. And your best players get a different set of rules. That’s straight from Jimmy Johnson. I’m good with his approach over yours and Rick’s.

Our coaches try to pull that old school tough guy **** with every player. It doesn’t always work with everyone.

Clearly, based on his massive attrition rate at UbaGA and UM, Rick has a big problem managing personalities and keeping guys on his team. Contrast that to Dabo, who almost never loses anyone and routinely signs tiny classes because they have such little attrition.

Jeff wouldn't have made it through half a season with the pre-probation teams. That is a **** fact.

Dumb, dumb, and more dumb.

Thomas was a ****bag before he came here. That show in his school showed that. His teammates reluctantly took his *** back on the team (had his coach made the call, he would've been gone) and sold out to win a state championship. This was talked about at the time, but it was hoped he would change when he got here.

Yes, when things go south, stories come out. That's natural and the typical course of action. What the exact truth is, who knows. I do know that he's not gotten much vocal support from his teammates, which would be happen if he had gotten the shaft.

As for attrition at Clemson, they are like we once were. Upperclassmen keep the underclassmen in check. You ***** up, you're more worried what those guys are going to do to you than the coaches. They obviously respect their coaches as many came back when they had legitimate draft prospects.

Richt, he is whatever he is, but he's no Dabo. Why that is, you'd have to be inside both programs to know what separates the two. Missing more than anything is that upperclassmen leadership.

You wanting to put this on Richt, yes........some of it is on him or maybe not if he have him chance after chance, it's clouding your judgement. Feel free to carry on though, it's sadly entertaining.

LMFAO that Jimmy wouldn't have sent him down the road. Dude ran a right ship, but first he let the players run part of it. You come at him or his staff, good luck.

The dog show would be more exciting than watching Richt's offense.

The Companion dog category, when the Frenchies strut their stuff, that is some exciting chit, man...mind blowing, next level chit. Richt could only dream to be as multiple as the companion dog category.

Isn't this the type of guy who kind of built this program? Guy has an attitude. Vocal and even inappropriate at times, but ridiculously talented and actually performs when the lights come on. Wasn't JJ's teams and Erickson's teams filled with these guys? Thomas didn't get in any trouble off the field. No guns or violence or anything else. He is an edgy playmaker.

I know a lot of people think he is selfish and me-focused, and maybe that is true, but we finally win in the game that Thomas plays big.
Yes it is but let's get one thing straight no player would ever be disrespectful to a coach under Howard,JJ or butch period and if you did you either left or wished you were dead after they worked your tail off.

Another TROLL

There's a difference between having fire that translates to performance on the field, at practice, in the weight room, etc, and still being a team guy and a positive leader. Vs being firey in terms of being insubordinate, being a me-first kid, being disruptive to the lockerroom, disrespectful to the staff, showing up late for things because you think you're better than everyone else, and being willing to walk out on your teammates. Those two are not in any way the same thing. And no, we don't need the latter.

Everyone here got their panties in a wad when Coach Brown referred to having cancer on the roster. Yet it's this type of premaddonna selfish sh-t like JT4 has shown, sh-t like Pope crying on social media about "why is everyone eating and not me?!?! waaaahhh wahhhhh waaahhhh" and going rogue and posting Gators hype sh-t THE DAY AFTER WE GOT OUR FIRST WIN IN A MONTH for christ sake, which represents that very cancer Coach Brown was referring to.

Of course, this will get thumbed down and I'll get called a slurper because I don't make excuses for everything the players do and blame CMR and the staff for anything and everything. But I don't a give ****. It is what it is, and some of these kids are poisonous to us being a good team. Doesn't mean I'm happy with the staff, not ****ed about the playcalling and richt Jr, etc. They are not mutually exclusive. But I'll call out a cvnt when I see a cvnt and this b-tch move JT4 made with a week left in the season is inexcusable. No, I don't want those kinds of kids at all, regardless of how talented they may be. Good riddance!
Doesn't it reflect poorly on the offensive guys that the defense isn't having any of these problems? Plenty of talented kids riding the pine on the D and not kicking up a fuss, and that side of the ball is actually performing well on the field too.

Actually I think that’s part of the problem. That IS the way you handle it but kids these days can’t handle it. That’s a problem with kids not coaches. This kid has had it handled “differently “ his whole life and that’s partly to blame for who he is now.

If you can't handle the way kids are now you shouldn't be paid tons of money to handle kids. You figure out what motivates your workforce to achieve maximum results and do it. management 101.
