Isn't this the type of guy who kind of built this program? Guy has an attitude. Vocal and even inappropriate at times, but ridiculously talented and actually performs when the lights come on. Wasn't JJ's teams and Erickson's teams filled with these guys? Thomas didn't get in any trouble off the field. No guns or violence or anything else. He is an edgy playmaker.

I know a lot of people think he is selfish and me-focused, and maybe that is true, but we finally win in the game that Thomas plays big.

I think we need more Alpha dogs in the lockeroom to keep people like Thomas and all these other diva WR who want to leave in check. If that’s in place kids like thomas won’t be as big of an issue.

We also need the coaches to allow these alpha dogs to do there thing also

I think there are two ways to look at it. 1. The way a championship caliber HC would handle it, hem and haw, plead your soapbox to the media, and sit the young man for something trivial. Such as the first half, because it is your professional Christian duty to win games. (Bottom Line) ... Or 2. Handle it the way Richt does, Dole out punishments for infractions of letter to the law to the fullest extent because it is your Christian civic duty to teach the young man a listen about authority, discipline, patience etc etc etc. Nearly a 1/4 century of evidence shows us that Richt will do the latter and is content winning the moral championships, as opposed to winning football games.

No. I’ve talked to OG cane fans about this undiscipline bad additude narrative that old school Miami teams get perceived as..cause of how they carried themselves on the field mostly..it’s overvlown race baiting..yea we had bad mutha****ers..but that was on the field..you don’t buck at the coaches and don’t show up for practice for 2 days..so no the greats in the past never did that ****. And if it did happen trust the leaders on those teams would get u inline. That’s what’s missing..lookup what the playmaker told jimmy when he arrived to Dallas

Those old guys were troublemakers off the field. Go back and read the articles of arrests, etc. Steve Walsh tells the story of seeing a prominent member of the team stealing car radios. They were not just on-the-field bad boys.

There's a difference between having fire that translates to performance on the field, at practice, in the weight room, etc, and still being a team guy and a positive leader. Vs being firey in terms of being insubordinate, being a me-first kid, being disruptive to the lockerroom, disrespectful to the staff, showing up late for things because you think you're better than everyone else, and being willing to walk out on your teammates. Those two are not in any way the same thing. And no, we don't need the latter.

Everyone here got their panties in a wad when Coach Brown referred to having cancer on the roster. Yet it's this type of premaddonna selfish sh-t like JT4 has shown, sh-t like Pope crying on social media about "why is everyone eating and not me?!?! waaaahhh wahhhhh waaahhhh" and going rogue and posting Gators hype sh-t THE DAY AFTER WE GOT OUR FIRST WIN IN A MONTH for christ sake, which represents that very cancer Coach Brown was referring to.

Of course, this will get thumbed down and I'll get called a slurper because I don't make excuses for everything the players do and blame CMR and the staff for anything and everything. But I don't a give ****. It is what it is, and some of these kids are poisonous to us being a good team. Doesn't mean I'm happy with the staff, not ****ed about the playcalling and richt Jr, etc. They are not mutually exclusive. But I'll call out a cvnt when I see a cvnt and this b-tch move JT4 made with a week left in the season is inexcusable. No, I don't want those kinds of kids at all, regardless of how talented they may be. Good riddance!

Couldn't agree more. Would have loved to see a true freshman 5-star b-tch and cry on social media that he wasn't getting the ball enough the day after the team notched a big W in that 1999-2002 lockerrrom. You think that sh-t would have flown back then?!? **** no!! Woulda been handled by the lockerrom leaders, and real quick like. Then again, that diva sh-t would have never been allowed to brew in the first place back then.

I thought this thread was about me on this forum. I was about to get defensive.

True I’m not referring too stuff that wouldn’t affect the team..not the **** they do on they off time..but even then some of that **** was overblown because it’s “Miami”..but as far as doing **** to the detriment of the team..going off on coaches and then not coming to practice..that **** would get checked quick

Thomas extremely talented but he quit and has had a bad attitude. Miami should never become a school where we have to depend on one guy

Nobody here knows the reason for the spat that ultimately lead to his dismissal. JT was talented but def has some issues that he’s still dealing with. This season def didn’t help many people on the offensive side of the ball. Dugans also needs to understand that WRs are here to catch the ball and make plays not stalk block. Cager doesn’t block well nor does he catch well but he continues to play. There is enough blame to go around. Ultimately, Thomas is responsible for him. Thomas will be missed because he was truly the only guy that consistently got behind the defense
