Do we make a bowl game?

Miami likely has a losing record to end 2018.

Probably get a bowl eligibility waiver and play somewhere. ESPN et al have a field day about once proud program begging to go to bowl...complete humiliation. Go to said bowl to be beaten by a Tulane/SMU/Louis Tech/UTSA/St Mary School for Blind/etc.

Will the BOT have seen enough by then? Unlikely, and the misery will continue into a 2019 opening day thrashing by UF.

Yes it is >> https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasparilla_Bowl It's an AAC vs C-USA/ACC Bowl.

If we went 6-6 that's probably the best we would get, Quick Lane or Indepence will go to teams like NC St, Pitt, GTech, Duke, UVA or even Wake Forest depending on how they finish.

Ahh, my bad. The one I looked at said AAC vs C-USA, but NC State played in it in 2014, so looks like it's possible.

I think we'll win the next 2, but I thought we'd win the last 4 so clearly I have no idea.

At 7-5, they should maybe sneak into something like the Pinstripe Bowl

We know Clemson is going to the playoff, and the ACC should have at least 8 total teams make bowls. That doesn't include Miami or Wake, who both have 5 wins. I think Miami will go, Wake will not. VT, UNC, FSU, Louisville, and Wake stay home. 9 go to bowls.

So yes, probably Gasparilla, Quick Lane, Pinstripe, or Independence

Mixed feelings. Bowl game= extra practices, buttttttttttt, do we want our guys practicing more of Rick's stuff or lack thereof right now?

So, just for fun, who could we play in a bowl that you're confident we can beat?

Probably anyone who they'd be matched up with, honestly.

Not saying it's remotely acceptable, but the losses have been to 4 bowl teams. 4 bowl teams who will go to better bowls than us. And they've been competitive games....all 1 score except BC. So sure, I have no problems thinking Miami can compete with a team they'd be matched up against in the Gasparilla Bowl. FSU was god awful last year and they smoked Southern Miss. You don't think Miami could possibly beat a team like that?

Right now? No.

Well, you're just a ray of sunshine, aren't you?

I agree with you.

Exactly right. Team has been practicing since the beginning of August. 8 more practices won't make a difference.

I know this doesn't always hold true, but that's not an ACC tie-in bowl.

My guess is the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit vs a Big 10 team like Iowa or Michigan State

or the Independence Bowl that FSU played in last year in Shreveport vs an SEC team like Auburn or South Carolina

We would get our **** pushed in by Iowa or MSU. And Detroit in December -- miserable.

Sounds like a fitting end to the program . . . I mean season.

I certainly wouldn't be so terrified to play Temple right now that I'd want to cower in the corner and not let the kids hang out in St. Pete for a week and get the young kids more practice time and experience.

Who's terrified? I just think Richt is capable of losing to anyone at this point. He'll probably win the next to and the crap bowl, but he's shown an ability to lose some really winnable games.

Sure he has. No doubt. But wishing the program loses is beyond ridiculous. The only way you get better is to get better players and hopefully improve the coaching staff. Winning or losing doesn't impact the staff piece. But it could potentially impact the recruiting piece. Try to win. You play to win the game *Herm Edwards voice*. Win this week, next week, win a bowl. Improve. Move forward. The whining and crying and moping on this site has reached impossibly embarrassing levels. It is what it is...we are where we are. How do you get better? You pray you lose so you don't go to a bowl? Defeatist, puzzy ****.

Honestly does it really matter? Other than the practices. We will play a mediocre team that would quite possibly make us look worse than we already do. The best thing we can do for recruiting is to not have any more games for the recruits to see us play like ****e.

Or win 3 games to finish 8-5 in 2018 and restore some semblance of respek on our name

I absolutely expect Miami to win their last two remaining games and then their bowl game ( S Johnson is going to maker sure the Seniors go out on a winning not! ). Unfortunately the bowl game will be some 10th rate bowl at some DESOLATED location. Yikes.

A bowl is a bowl. We have fallen little bit, but we will definitely get an invite at 6-6.

Sorry, but a toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and if we don't get no tolls, then we don't eat no rolls.
