Do optics not matter to us?

The majority of voters and fans in general didn’t watch this game. 31-0 or more looks way better than 31-17. After ****ting the bed on national tv, we need all the positive marketing we can get. Do we even care beyond W’s or L’s?

We aren't in contention for the National Championship Game, so who cares what the outside world thinks about our victories?

Just win the ACC Coastal, see where the chips fall in the ACC Title Game and get better as a team.

Not only that we have a ton of true freshman who prolly wont play again beyond this game. Get them experience while u have a chance. FIU was not a threat.

Same people who will cry when a LB blow a knee. I was at the game. FIU was totally shut down. Like completely. When the back up D went in they had 45 yards.

I don't think optics mater in this case. Beat down FIU is expected. Blow out an ACC team and you will get more credibility.

The optics only matter if everyone sees that we're down 17-14 in the 4th quarter and we end up winning 31-17. There is absolutely no news out coming out of this game, so the voters won't be swayed either way.

I couldn't be happier with the way Miami's first string played. Overall dominance. Still, there's voters out there (I don't give a **** about ignorant fans) who will only see the final score and penalize Miami because of it. You want to get some younger guys reps? Fine, rotate them in with the ones. No need to empty your entire bench in a 31-0 game.

4th string players disagree with you

I hear all of that, and I definitely did not like the play of our 3rd/4th stringers in the 4th Quarter. BUT -- Be real, we were not going to impress voters even if we won by 50. That's why I don't care for these type of games. Very limited upside but massive downside. Ask Virginia Tech.

Only upside is to treat it like a tune up, work on some finer points and get your young guys some PT.

You're supposed to let the young guys play when you're up 31-0. We should be angry with our backups for letting FIU score 17 points. Literally leaving a WR with a 3rd of the field to himself? Yeah. definitely would rather our 5th string DB beat himself over it when the game is over and get grilled about it afterwards while we still win the game.
