Also, was he a face as Sid Justice? I don't remember him with that name.

For less than a year. WWE signed him in 1991 and renamed him Sid Justice. He was supposed to be the replacement for Hulk Hogan, but within days of his signing the steroid scandal broke out. With that - and the unexpected availability of Ric Flair - the prospect of a 6'8" blond haired muscular champion was no longer viable for WWE. Also, Sid himself wanted to work as a heel. So by 1992 he became a heel and the rest is history.
