Maybe because we didn't have a consistent offense to keep the defense off the field long enough to recover fully is the reason we had to always rotate on the Dline. Being able to score on explosive plays is great, but we need to be able to mix it in with long sustained drives to keep the defense fresh. Just a guess
Also, the defense can't stop anyone on third down, getting themselves off the field.
This right here.3rd and long was our opponents easiest play all season.
If our offense takes the next step as expected we are going to be a quick strike team so nothing really changes in terms of how many times the D wil be on the field.
Whether its a 3 and out, or a 3 and a TD, Diaz gotta tighten up.
