DL David Stone [commits to Okla] ENUFF

Yep. I’m aware of the differences. And, I chose my words carefully. Specifically, because I think Stone has a good chance of *immediately* replacing Taylor’s *current* role. For those who’ve been around here a while, they know I generally believe - and did a long post showing the evidence - DTs generally (there are exceptions I’ve previously covered) take 3 years to show who they are at the college level. Stone’s noticeable advanced stage - in comparison - would be disproportionately valuable for us. That’s why we’ll pay him what he’s worth to us.
Pay him that, and a little bit more

I don't think first-year Stone replaces 3rd-year LT. We need to hit the portal in a big way. But Stone could play a lot of snaps and be starting by the end of the season and certainly into the second. Essentially what I expect from Bain this season.

Shades of Jordan Travis v Phillips on that pitch.

Stone will fit right in

We need to hit the portal regardless for TWO DTs (even if Horton and Moten show out), and *Stone needs some weight/mass*, but if he’s an early enrollee, he’s got a legit shot for more snaps than the usual True Frosh 3T.
