DJ Dallas

If he can catch, he could help make up for the loss of Berrios. We need to keep him on the field and we have a pretty good stable of RBs starting next year.

I'd like to see him in a Percy Harvin-type role. Put him in the slot and run some jet sweeps and throw some screens. That would maximize what he does best - make people miss.
 
Watching his high school tape, he looked like a decent passer, why haven't we giving this kid a passing option out of the wildcat also?
 
Kid's our best player, period, whoever said Perry was our best player doesn't know what dafuq they're talking about.

And like D$ alluded to, I'm surprised we didn't use Him on KOR, He certainly seems like He'd be an upgrade over JT4.

He reminds me of a freshman Duke Johnson.

Jeff Thomas was a horrible kick returner this year.
 
As a former QB why hasn’t Richt given Dallas the option to throw the ball? Seems very logical to for this kid to create havoc for the opposing defense. Would add a nice wrinkle and we could have used that a few times against Wisconsin. I guess our masterful and genius playcaller thought otherwise.
 
DJ plays fearlessly. He looks and plays like an upperclassman as a true freshman. Teams knew exactly what was coming when he lined up at QB, and they still weren't able to stop it. Love what he brings. I think he'll make an excellent running back because he is such a playmaker and so versatile. He's exceeded my expectations of him as a true freshman who has played well in mulitple positions when it mattered.
 
Bigger version of Roscoe Parrish for us. (obviously not as quick)

Dallas definitely needs to be on the return teams.

He makes people miss, he's got good strength for his size and he has enough speed to be dangerous.

As someone else mentioned, he really should've replaced Thomas on the kickoff returns. I like Thomas, but he's either hesitant, not too shifty or both.

Dallas isn't hesitant, seems much more instinctive and has very good short-area quickness.

He's going to be a good one at Miami - but we need to get him the ball more.

Except Wisky did in that late series, when we desperately needed the points.
Another inexplicable wasted set of downs when the game was on the line. Not the first time.

True, but that's not a bad reflection on DeeJay. It's more so an indication of just how limited our options were on the offensive side of the ball with MR as QB and several impact players out.

Spot on. Kick and punt returns were unimpressive this year except for Berrios' one return against FSU. I think Thomas made it to the 40 maybe once this season. Berrios was the master of the fair catch. I also have to think that special teams blocking was below average. Dallas' size and speed make him a threat on every return. With his long strides, once he gets past the first defenders, he's gone. His TD run in the OB makes me wonder why he wasn't given the ball earlier in the year and more often.
