Dionte Mullins needs to make a big jump this off-season and contribute next year.

This was a write up of the UA game last year where he was the #4 performer of the week:

Mullins made the most of his week in Orlando and showed no rust from not being able to play as a senior. His one-handed touchdown reception over Kristian Fulton was one of the most impressive plays of the week. He was quick off the line, physical, ran great routes, and showed himself to be the most dynamic and reliable receiver of the week. He finished the game with two receptions for 35 yards, including his 24-yard touchdown reception.

He was one of my favorite recruits last year. If we get Cager back healthy as well it will be huge for the offense.[SUB][/SUB]

He suffered from arriving too late to be able to catch up and missing all of last year. Now, with that said, in a normal situation, he redshirts, but due to lack of depth, he was needed for special teams. This is what a lot of people don't understand when I (and others) talk about our lack of depth. It's not just in game situations, it's forcing us to burn redshirts on guys, who 3-4 years from now, would be redshirting.

Has all the raw talent, but needs proper guidance and more self motivation to reach his true potential

Exactly.... Look at the impact a guy like Amile Jefferson is having as a RS Senior for Duke basketball. He wasnt anything special at anytime with Duke but now in his fifth year he is a man playing against boys. 15 ppg and 10 rb. You have enough RS guys then its a huge difference maker and this would be from guys who were not highly recruited and who may not go on and play in the league. I also like the fact that it gives the team more leadership as well.

Not every team is stacked with blue chippers like Alabama but having depth over the long haul brings your core group up and its another way to compete with the top teams in the country on a regular basis.

Half expected Mullins and Homer to contribute on offense this season. Have no problem with them playing special teams but they will both have a great opportunity this spring...perhaps even the bowl game.

Mullins is only playing 2 years here as a starter. Either you redshirt him and lose him as a Sophmore (Njoku), you lose him as a Jr. or he gets in trouble and gets the boot. Barring injury, he'll never see 4 years here. My hope is that he is in the 1st round of the 2019 draft.

Mullins will have a big role in this offense next season...

Mullins, Homer, Haskins, Irvin(g) & all the 2017 Freshman are going to get plenty of PT next year.

He had problems getting in, barely made it. He didn't see the field in what is the easiest position to see immediate playing time this year and didn't catch a shirt.

Don't give me the he came in late thing. WR is unquestionably the easiest position to grasp in football. Combine his lack of play at his position, one where we were said to have a lack of speed, my guess is he'll barely see the field here ever. Something just doesn't add up with him.

Holy crap this is transfer season. Don't title a thread with a freaking player's name without an explanation of what your post is about.

Where have all the vets gone.
