It's no secret how I feel about Golden and his staff. I've said for two years now that he won't make any staff changes himself nor be forced to yet alone be let go himself. As of today, some of us hold out hope he is fired in the next couple days, other hoping he makes a few staff changes and some are convinced he will do nothing.

1. Why would Donna want to fire a Head Coach on her way out the door and have it as the last major ticket item on her "legacy"? Why not just dump it off on the next President and "let them deal with it"? Why not go out being a hero by being loyal to the man that inherited a mess when when with looming sanctions that weren't disclosed?

2. Miami has been down the firing assistants route with Coker and saw how that panned out. What quality assistants would accept jobs at Miami knowing how hot of a seat Al is on with the likelyhood of only being here for 1 year? How could they gamble with their careers this much especially with a new President coming in?

3. This is where my different perspective comes in and I am so desperate it sounds crazy. Since the school and Golden won't make changes it might be for the best as it will get them all out of here sooner than later. If Golden makes changes it could simply buy him who is the root problem a 6th year as he will pitch it to Blake as "I need at least two years with these new guys on staff". Al's loyalty will be his downfall to his career and does it mean we waste a season next year? In one way it does but it is better than a couple of wasted seasons as we all know there is no way we will be any good next year and consecutive trending down seasons will get him fired. Bottom line is with our situation is that we might have to take a step back to leap forward.

Because, dammit, Shalala isn't leaving NOW.

If we were getting a new President NOW, I could understand her dereliction of duty.

If the biitch were any damned good, she'd resign right now, and enable a timely correction. But she won't as she's one sorry assed taco specialist.

She's a cancer to our school. **** her and her legacy. She ran this school into the ground, athletically and financially. UHealth is a fiasco, financially mismanaged and unfeasible. And in her narciccistic quest to put her stamp on something, it's hurt our school tremendously. She sucks. **** her.

Stopped reading at the insane concept of Shalala going out a "hero" for refusing to fire an inept football Corch. A hero to who? One person--the inept Corch? If that was your first point I didn't feel like getting to the lesser ones.

Golden isn't getting fired, and I'd say with almost 99% confidence that no one on his staff will be fired.

Dude has a full year of immunity left under his belt.

a hero in her mind and to the BOT

She killed the program and evidentially placed a great financial burden on the school. She's no hero and hopefully it will show eventually

God forbid we should expect the President of The Former U to actually do the right thing, like execute her duties.
Why not just dump it off on the next President and "let them deal with it"?
See above.

How exactly is being a "hero" to Goldie supersede being a heroine to The Former U? You know, the one whose checks she cashes.

2. Miami has been down the firing assistants route with Coker and saw how that panned out.
It wasn't the firing of assistants that was the problem, it was Coker's incompetence (still a FAR BETTER HC than our current abortion).
What quality assistants would accept jobs at Miami knowing how hot of a seat Al is on with the likelyhood of only being here for 1 year? How could they gamble with their careers this much especially with a new President coming in?
Most fans have long realized that firing assistants isn't the cure. Goldie, Flake, The Troll, and the Board Of Garbage are the problem.

This one is hard to decipher, as English is my second language, and your third. What might be for the best? Not making changes, so Goldie's incompetence will get him out sooner than 2 years, with a partial new staff? What's sooner than firing his *** NOW.
Al's loyalty will be his downfall to his career and does it mean we waste a season next year?
Who exactly is Goldie being loyal to, that will be his downfall: The Former U, Dorito, himself, The Troll, Flake, The BOG?
In one way it does but it is better than a couple of wasted seasons as we all know there is no way we will be any good next year and consecutive trending down seasons will get him fired.
Run, Run, Run.
Bottom line is with our situation is that we might have to take a step back to leap forward.
How about just BRING BACK BUTCH NOW.

With him clearly not making staff changes, players transferring and the recruiting class imploding it only assures us that he is gone some time this fall. Since we are retaining him I do not want him to make changes as only creates the opportunity for him to prolong his tenure here. Eat the year, suffer and then start fresh is where my mindset is.

I'm so convinced he's going nowhere that I'm actually rooting for him to succeed knowing full well that he won't.

I feel like that's the only way were ever relevant again, if Al Golden suddenly learns on the job.

Because he's in it for the long haul.

Starting to come around to this rationale.

Yep, if he does worse surely he'll get fired.

Blake James is always like "I need to see improvement. This isnt good enough. I'm not satisfied."

Goldens definitely on his last leg, this makes sense.

Shalala is a bed wetting democrat...they can't handle a budget to save their lives. After all...it's not her money she is ****ing away.

Right now you see Donna's true colors.....she is failing in her duties while hiding behind a death in the family. I feel for her loss....but that is NO EXCUSE to go and do nothing for this long. If it is that much of a problem....retire/resign early....act like you should for the office you hold.

I hope they don't change any assistants.
First I think the root of the problem is Golden and any changes won't matter.
Second it would buy him even more time and a build in excuse. (Not the he ever had an issues making one up)
Third I believe he would scapegoat good assistants to keep his guys.
