It's no secret how I feel about Golden and his staff. I've said for two years now that he won't make any staff changes himself nor be forced to yet alone be let go himself. As of today, some of us hold out hope he is fired in the next couple days, other hoping he makes a few staff changes and some are convinced he will do nothing.
1. Why would Donna want to fire a Head Coach on her way out the door and have it as the last major ticket item on her "legacy"? Why not just dump it off on the next President and "let them deal with it"? Why not go out being a hero by being loyal to the man that inherited a mess when when with looming sanctions that weren't disclosed?
2. Miami has been down the firing assistants route with Coker and saw how that panned out. What quality assistants would accept jobs at Miami knowing how hot of a seat Al is on with the likelyhood of only being here for 1 year? How could they gamble with their careers this much especially with a new President coming in?
3. This is where my different perspective comes in and I am so desperate it sounds crazy. Since the school and Golden won't make changes it might be for the best as it will get them all out of here sooner than later. If Golden makes changes it could simply buy him who is the root problem a 6th year as he will pitch it to Blake as "I need at least two years with these new guys on staff". Al's loyalty will be his downfall to his career and does it mean we waste a season next year? In one way it does but it is better than a couple of wasted seasons as we all know there is no way we will be any good next year and consecutive trending down seasons will get him fired. Bottom line is with our situation is that we might have to take a step back to leap forward.
