Differences in the game

Many will blame Beck for the last throw or the lack of schematics in offense, but what really stands out was the lack of coaching, discipline and possibly investment in this side of the house;

1- the FK was mentally cooked during the playoff season. We brought in a kid from FAU who has never played in these type of environments and now he is shaken
2- the coaching on special teams continues to disappoint over the last 5 years. We do not block punts, we gave our O horrible field position, 2 or 3 holdings, and the lack of situational
Awareness to block a player that I believe was the difference.
3- Although punting was ok, i believe the punter was slow to punt the ball and and moved into the player outside of the blocking wall. Again coaching!
4- finally from my perspective, why were we trying to return balls when the 25 is guaranteed? Coach should have corrected this ASAP!

So my solution, invest and invest heavily into this side of the team, hopefully the new kicker from FSwho may help, but we need coaching, scheme, and disciple!

In my opinion, we played too conservative on offense in the first half and way too soft coverage in the first half. We made great adjustments at halftime but we needed 60 mins of what we did in the 2nd half. The block punt was crucial. All that, we still had a chance. Hats off to Indiana. We dominated the second half and they just made key plays when they had to. If Beck's last pass was another yard farther the outcome is different. On to next year.
 
Did Joyce take any longer than her normally does? I didn’t think so. That’s just that Australian style punting. It was on Bauman to pick up his man.

Not the punters fault. All Bauman has to do is make a slight effort, a chip, and the kick is fine. Both show you football is a literal game of inches, four inches on both blunders and we’re sitting here winners.
