College football is about difference makers.

I'm not sure I see one in this class outside of St. Louis.

I think St. Louis has a chance to be an elite kid.
I think Walton & Jaquan have chances to be very good but I think both have some limitations as well.

Besides those 3, I'm not sure that I see any real players that I feel convinced, at this point, are going to be real difference makers. I think Charles Perry has a chance and he would be my next bet. Who else on this team do you think has a chance to step up into that level?

I guess after those names, I would look at Washington, Milo, Patchan, McIntosh. Maybe one of the late Miami kids surprises (Knowles, Redwine, King).

Depressing. FSU, Alabama, etc. aren't getting any worse, they are stacking their roster with 5 star & 4 star options at every position. It's a game of statistics. Failure to act after 2013 crushed this program's short-term future, just have to hope that the long-term future is better.

This is the slowest Miami class in history and it will set us back multiple years.

There are a few really solid players in this class, but it's nowhere near the type of haul we need to be bringing in to compete for anything meaningful. Golden would squander any talent that's brought in anyway, but this is just making the rebuild for the next coach a far taller task than it should ever have to be.

Any coach at Miami who doesn't pull in Top 10 classes year after year, or Top 15 at the absolute worst, should be shown the door irrespective of on-field performance. Combine Golden's embarrassing on-field product with laughably poor recruiting and you have the worst head coach in college football. But hey, #SWAG16 even though we'll have even more decommitments next year than the 15 we had this year.
 
We had difference makers on the team this year and lost 7 games.

This staff could pull #1 class every year and it wouldn't matter.
 
When you take 6 olineman in a class it always never "looks" good to the people that dont understand football
 
I disagree with the difference makers bit

Calloway has legit 4.3 speed. He could be a Dorsett type for us at WR
Dexter Williams he very shifter he will get a like a yards after the catch weather he is a WR or RB
Scarlett will have multiple 1000 yard season in his career
Devante Peete is BIG 6-5 and FAST 4.5 I be shocked if he doesn't end up in the NFL

I see nothing but difference makings in the 2015 class

I dare someone to conduct this same analysis with FSU's class, since, you know, they are our in-conference and in-state rivals and we play them every single year.................
 
Cager will be a difference maker. He's a tall guy who can get way up for passes. Does he run a 4.2? No. Does he need to with his size and leaping ability? No.

I think the 05 recruiting class was the worst ever, and started this whole downward spiral.

This class has a 2010 feel to it in terms of how I think it'll play out. I was more excited for 2010 at the time.

I agree with SF, maybe 3 difference makers at best IF they all reach their full potential.
 
If he doesn't flip Chatman could well be a difference maker, but it doesn't sound real good on his front.
 
Strength of the class is the OL. As stated above, real concern is the overall lack of speed.

Agreed with the OP - the lack of top level players in this class is going to be a huge issue for this team, especially with the difference makers we lost off of this year's team. There is no one on our roster, and no one in this recruiting class to replace what Dorsett provided. It's unclear if there's anyone on our roster, or anyone in this class, that will replace what Walford gave us. And based on what we saw from Yearby, who I think may end up being good, but not as good as Duke, we'd better hope that Walton can step right in and help.

On defense, it's unsurprisingly even a bigger issue. Our DL class doesn't have any real standouts, especially not at DT. We'd better hope that Perry can step in and play right away, as the other two guys are unlikely to help immediately (or at all). Jaquan Johnson likely will be able to step in and help, but otherwise, we missed, or didn't even recruit, most the CBs from South Florida who could have been real difference makers.

When Golden gets fired after going 7-5 next season, the new coach is going to be left with a roster that has some elite/great players (Kaaya, Coley, Yearby, Chad Thomas), but lots of JAGs, and lots of holes (LB, CB, WR).

Let's just hope they hit on their o-line targets. We need at least 3 of these kids to end up as solid starting o-linemen, and probably two by 2016.
 
Someone make sure to tell Scarlett his signing class SUCKS. If I ever see him, he will be reminded.
