Didn’t Richt have like 5 straight waves of QBs and RBs get drafted relatively high?

QB recruiting was a major issue at Georgia towards the end from what I remember. Got so bad they brought in a back up QB from Virginia to start for them.

If we lose the opener to UF next year with a grad transfer starting, he will be fired or at the very least stripped of playcalling duties and brown will finally get a shot to call plays.

If you wan't to win games you need to let a few little off field issues slide. Don't cover up rapes or murders like Jimbo and Urban, but little things need to be covered up with no suspensions. Make the kid run a few extra laps or something.
Announcers mentioned that Richt said he was “concerned that Rosier seems to care less about preparation than he does.”

Rich words coming from a dude who decided to go on a season opening Top 25 road trip withtout a backup QB.

This ******* guy needs to take a long hard look at himself in the mirror. Does he want to run a boy scout troop or run a football team? Pro NFL teams have guys that have only 1 job. That is to cover up and make sure their players don't get in trouble. Elite colleges also have these guys. Do you think Nick Saban walks in on Tua smoking weed, drinking under age, etc. he would suspend him? **** no. The only way he is suspending any one that may possibly see game play is if it gets blown up by the media and he has absolutley no option to suspend him or the NCAA gets involved. The NCAA would have no idea about whatever Perry did to deserve the suspension. Great coaches only suspend players when the NCAA is forcing their hand.I would be fine with him suspending a player if he walked in on him raping, beating his GF, murdering someone etc.

The players getting suspended for missing class is not on rick, and i think rick sucks.

Its on this mickey mouse ***** school that used to be The U that has used that football brand as a catch phrase to change a once awesome place into a pussified nerd school.

Thats bull****. UNC and Duke are both better schools then the U and they let their players get away with a **** of a lot more.

Stafford was the first overall pick. Other than him, what other QBs are you referring to?

This topic is what scares me the most about Mark Richt. As mentioned above, he had Grayson freaking Lambert, the scrub of all scrubs, as his starting quarterback for an extended period of time. For all of the talk about coach being this QB guru, his QB recruiting at UGA was pretty suspect. I'm sure at some point he'll luck into a talent like Matt Stafford but, other than that, I really don't know what to think about the most important position on the field. And the fact that he's sticking with Rosier this week like nothing happened on Sunday night is more evidence to me that coach Richt is too stubborn to take a serious look in the mirror.

David Greene and Aaron Murray were rock solid college QBs...but other than Matt Stafford, Richt struggled to evaluate great QBs, especially during the tailend of his run. Missing on Deshaun Watson and Cam Newton in-state are on par with Mack Brown missing on Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III as fireable offenses. He did land Jacob Eason, a 5*, highly regarded kid late in his tenure. He has since transferred and we'll see what he does next year at Washington.

Huston Mason and Greyson Lambert in his final years at UGA and coming here, taking a "projected first round QB" (I say that with tongue firmly planted in cheek) and making him an unrosterable journeyman in the NFL and riding Malik Rosier for two years are the recent QBs of Richt's coaching career and that is not a good look.

Just looked back at 15 years of Richts UGA QBs most of them weren’t bad. Don’t know what y’all are talking about. We’d kill to have Grayson Lambert here instead of Rosier

If you coach UGA it is impossible to not have a decent QB. It is the equivalent of running backs in Florida. Georgia produces quarterbacks.

Banners will fly if Rosier continues to start. You heard it here first.

This is a nice summary of the UGA boards from about 2010-2015.

Missing on Deshaun Watson and Cam Newton in-state are on par with Mack Brown missing on Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III as fireable offenses.
I'd add DJ Shockley to the list of rock solid college QBs, too.

You mentioned Richt missing on Deshaun Watson and Cam Newton. The problem is that he didn't really miss, it's that he never really tried. He recruited Cam Newton as a tight end, for heaven's sake. Deshaun Watson grew up less than 45 minutes from UGA and didn't get an offer until after he'd committed to Clemson and there was a near mutiny of boosters in the area.

The notable QB's were David Green, DJ Shockley, Mathew Stafford and Aaron Murray. Some lesser known's as well, but nothing close to bad as Rosier, but in all fairness RIcht did not recruit Rosier.
