Did you hear what Fletcher said?

The announcer said Fletcher wasn't surprised by the Louisville loss because the team had a bad week of practice.
A bad week of practice before an important conference game?
That's a huge indictment of the coaching staff.
Don’t get overly excited. What was the context & what else did he say? Mark Jones is an absolute clown & cringe whenever he calls a Miami game. Plays the big South Florida role & yet oddly doesn’t realize Bethune Cookman is in Florida or that we played them at home. Said it twice during broadcast.

Literally ever team deals with this.

It’s it human nature.

It’s on everyone involved.

But the reality is that we win that game by a narrow margin and possibly a big margin if our QB throws 50% less picks.

assuming it doesn't cost us an acc title.. I think the Louisville loss will be a net positive on this team

if it does cost us an acccg appearance then I take it back

I mean what you expect him to say after we lost? "We had a great week of practice and we played like ****."

Yall never factor in that these are not professional athletes lol. We probably don’t have great practices in every win either
But they are professionals now. They’re being paid. Now teams are going to have off weeks and we certainly did. Hopefully the second half performance we had this week sparks the offense

And the players. It seems Miami usually struggles after the bye week. Whole team came out flat
This was my biggest concern going into Florida and Louisville games. I don't remember the last time we had a coach that maintained momentum coming out of a bye week. I'd be interested in our W/L record following bye weeks and against who. I'd be willing to bet we have a losing record against mid-tier (GT, UVA, NC ST, etc) P5 teams after a bye.

Players need to hold each other accountable. A week's worth of poor practice is unacceptable, IMHO.

Looking forward to next season with Baby Jesus leading the team.

Remember how the spread dropped from 14.5 to 11.5 the day of the game? No one could understand why.
Maybe the word got out about the practices.
Just a guess.

Nil doesn’t make them professionals, they are supposed to be getting paid off their name and likeness

That's an indictment of the players. There's only so much any coach can do if guys aren't focused. This is how I can tell a lot of our "Fans" never played organized sports. Coaches will straight up tell you "If you don't button up at practice, you will lose this week" and guys will STILL find a way to not take it seriously. That's why having a strong player leadership structure is important. Back in the Ed Reed era, if you weren't handling your business, things would be taken care of after practice. The coaches only deal with these guys at most 25 hours per week. The locker room needs to police itself.
This right here all day. Can’t upvote you enough!

Just didn’t handle the second bye week well. The first one they handled great but the second one not so much. That was the one concern about how the bye weeks set up for me.
