Did we really score 52 and...

Not sure I'd go that far, but he's been underwhelming. Obviously OL and QB play were an issue earlier in the year, but I can't help but think he hasn't done everything he could to be great.

He's like my poster child for why you don't predict success based on HS talent or a 40 time. There are just too many things that have to go right plus the kid has to be smart and a hard worker. It's too easy for talented guys to be lazy and still look amazing in HS, but that sht doesn't play by the time you hit college.

He has 1,300 receiving yards, a number of good kick and punt returns (although overall he is just adequate in this area), and 9 TDs in his 3 years. He's been more of #3 type WR here, instead of a #2 or #1 as we hoped.

I think that makes him a poster child for why you CAN predict success based on HS talent or a 40 time. If we think he's been underwhelming, and he's still been a solid player for us, that suggests the floor for these type of guys is generally higher than for others.

And if he does get things straightened out and comes out with an 800-yard, 8-TD type of season next year, then his career here would have been very good.

jt4 is an elite talent no doubt. But the guy is a locker room nightmare. The dude literally quit on the team and left. Diaz decided to bring him back. Hes been suspended multiple times in separate seasons. The louisville game is just proof that we can function fine without him.

Am I the only one who thinks JT4 has done more bad than good while with the Canes?
Completely disagree with this. 4 has his idiot and clown moments but he's still t he most explosive receiver and he's always opened defenses up for everybody else. I badly want him to get his **** together and bring it all in next season because he should be ready to leave school early but he's his biggest enemy

JT4 has to come back next year....I'm rooting for dawg

I agree with this sentiment. And I would be very happy to have him back next season. But I just don't get the feeling he's into the whole college experience.

I could be misreading it, but he seems like a guy who is a bit home sick, isn't feeling the academics at UM, and just wants to play football so he can get himself into the League. Not that there's anything wrong with that; going away to school isn't for everybody. It just means I would be surprised if he came back. I am confident he'd light up the combine, and even with a mediocre junior season, at that point all it takes is 1 GM to pull the trigger.

Lol at locker room nightmare... smh. How can a quiet kid be that...

Honestly, I'd like JT4 to come back next year and prove me wrong.

Sometimes, he looks like a #1 reciever, and sometimes, he goes MIA.

However, unlike some others on here, I won't put it 100% on JT4. It's hard to get open deep when your QB has two seconds to throw.

Harley is more of a possession, #2 reciever, much a Kevin Beard type. He can occassionally break one, but this offseason work on his route running and hands. He does that, he will find himself in a rotation on a NFL roster.

Dee Wiggins has elite speed. There is no doubting that. Reminds me of Santana Moss on go/seam routes Duper needs to work with him like he did Hankerson.

Brevin Jordan, without a doubt, is our #1 TE. Decent blocking, good speed, great hands. Kellen Winslow comparisons come directly to mind. Very happy he's on our team.

I really haven't seen Pope enough to gather an opinion.

I like our WR corp for next year.

Say what you will....but J.T. did
set the tone for the offense during the fsu game....nice throw nice catch endzone.

His issues are not talent or skills. It’s between the ears.

I'd have to disagree. He has rarely shown himself to be the game-breaker, star receiver many expected, but he's had some moments, and still has time to turn the corner and become a star. Yes, he's had some ***** ups on and off the field, but he's worth keeping around, and could really make a name for himself if he gets it all together.

Do you understand the pass progression concept?. There is an order you go through. I'm pretty sure JT isn't always the first read.

Yeah usually the first read has been a bs 3 yard pass or screen on 3rd and long. If JT isn’t the 1st or 2nd read then that’s on the QB and coaches.

Anybody downing JT bc he isn’t putting up big numbers need to look at the QB play he’s had to deal with the last 3 seasons....

The past two seasons Malik was unable to consistently throw it downfield to JT who was always open.

This season the issue was not only was the QB play inconsistent, but for the first half of the season the QB never targeted any receiver downfield to attempt to throw it deep to JT. When he did he was inaccurate to say the least.
