Did our defensive tackles...

They both said they lost weight in interviews.. I think both are under 300.. Dont remember which said they played at 310 I want to say Moten last year and he is 295.. Our DC likes DTs to be slim..

He just likes guys that are athletic it’s not about a specific weight

From recruiting it does seem that way but ok.. And others have said that before..

It’s about skill set not size. They will take a 300+ pounder if he has the athleticism to do what they want. Scott was 300 out of hs. Moten was 323. They got Jenkins in this class who is 310-315. They don’t want big guys who are just gap cloggers
 
I’m fine with our defense, it’ll be a good enough unit to win a national championship when paired with our obscene offense. But I was mostly laughed at when I had the audacity to suggest losing 3 and 4 (and 0) would result in the defense taking a step back. It will.

But honestly, it doesn’t matter. Because this is going to be pretty **** close to a repeat of the 2024 offense, except this time even the slightly pared down defense will be WAY better than the 2024 version.

We’ll have a Top 5 offense and Top 20 defense. That’s plenty good enough to win a natty. I trust Heatherman. And good lord do I trust Dawson when he has 10 and 1 to work with.

I hesitate to say this because I’m always the first one to talk about how difficult it is to play well every single week. But I don’t think we’ll even be remotely challenged until ND. I might be over my skis here and feel free to bump this and tell me I don’t know ball, but I think we win every single game by double-digits before we head to South Bend. This defense is good. And the offense is frightening.

Maybe some don’t like the connotation of the words step back..It’s like they view it as someone saying a fall off or drop off

It’s just not easy to replace your 3 best players on defense in a year but we still have alot of talent, guys will step up and we’ll still have a top defense just not arguably the best defense like last year

#31 was a key player as well. New players will emerge. Coming into last season, Bain was coming of injuries and inconsistent SO season and Mesidor was out so long people was wondering if he was gonna retire.

Stanford was really scheming up the DL, moving the pcoket alot and getting rid of the ball quickly
