Did Mario throw 4 picks??

All Beck had to do was not be montrously awful and we win this game.

Everything else is window dressing.

So much spilled milk over nonsense.

Both things can be true.

Who is responsible for our running game?

How many picks does Beck throw for Louisville in that game plan they had today. A plethora of easy em reads and throws.

3 QBs? You mean the wild cat?

What about the fake FG everyone saw coming?

Cam Ward covered up a lot of things for the offense, but we also utilized our WRs much better.

The defense was abysmal last year. It’s a fact. What is also a fact is that we are not a good team running the football. The states speak for themselves and that’s how this offense is built.
I said it to my self while kinda watching the game on my phone on my way home from work. You knew they were going to run the fake FG. You knew Brohm was going to let it all hang out. He had nothing to lose at the beginning of the game.

Been awhile since I’ve seen a QB throw 4 picks let alone 5 if not for a penalty to save us…

you can church up brohm and his offense but Beck throwing 4 picks kept the momentum with Loserville

All mario had to do is not force us to run a million times directly into our center or guard after creating a dogpile all game. But hes been doing that for over 2 years now.

This offense needs a run game and aggresive play calls period.

Who's your HC hire? This isn't joking around either, as Mario was my #2. And I admit I was in the wrong re: Freeze.

Genuinely asking. If Beck doesn't throw those first 3 interceptions, what do you actually think that changes for us? inevitably we would run it up the middle for no gain, run a wr screen on 2nd down, then get a penalty on 3rd forcing an even more insurmountable obvious pass situation... LIke honestly. We couldn't run the ball period. Every run call was a COMPLETE waste of a down. We would have been better off literally kneeing instead of running. That way at least we wouldn't have picked up a pre-snap or post-snap penalty on those plays. I'm literally not even joking. Net yardage and expected win% between kneeing vs running + the penalties we picked up on those plays legit may have been better to knee.

Also the first pick yeah he should have taken the check down. Objectively Toney got PIed though. Also a great play by the defender to catch it. The 2nd INT was a terrible decision and pass by Beck. the 3rd one was a 4th down and the LG got instantly beat so he just threw a ball up. The int LITERALLY helped us cause it lost them yards vs it just being incomplete. The final INT was literally a designed play AND the pass was tipped. it's not like Beck read the lb wrong or made a garbage throw....

I will say this and be done with this **** for the next few days: I keep having flashbacks of the 3rd pick when Bauman was wide open with 15+ yards in front of him. I hated the game plan. The execution was *** and we were sloppy. We handed the refs more ammunition than they knew what to do with. Mario gave the game away at the end. Dawson scripted them the game the wanted and didn’t reel in his QB. But the sum of it all, is when the team fought back like good teams do, the guy who holds us by the nuts all year folded. 4* times at that. He was Lagway-esque. Blame who you want but that is ******* insanity.

Mario is the guy, obviously. The problem is he's a conservative ***** who needs to let go control of the run scheme. It's that simple. It isn't ******* working. He's fixed other issues that have cropped up. It's time for him to look himself in the mirror and admit HE WAS THE ******* PROBLEM. It's as simple as that. If we don't completely change our Run Scheme we are absolutely ****ed.

He needs to:
- Be more aggressive with play calling period.. Idgaf if we are up 21 in the 3rd quarter every ******* game from now on. WE NEED to stay aggressive all game. We need to put our foot on the pedal. We can't even just win out close. we have to win out big now.

- Change the Run scheme completely. In fact doing the EXACT opposite would probably be 10x better. Whatever he is doing now literally do the exact opposite of everything. We run close splits? Now we should go wide. We run condensed formations? Now we dont. We run inside the tackle 80% of the game? Now we do it 20% of the time. I'm literally not joking.

- Punish players and Take away playing time based on penalties - ESPECIALLY 15 yarders and pre-snap. This is a complete ******* joke at this point.

I imagine Mario has tried disciplining players, maybe with gassers or up downs.

We need the team doctor to prescribe adderall at this point

I don't even put it all on the QB. Total failure in preparation, not maximizing players abilities, outachemed, and out coached all night long.

A painful example is Louisville and their first drive. They march down the field and we finally get a stop. Master class in unpredictability on their part until they were stopped.

Line them up for a field goal. We should've been 100 percent about the fake there. Three

3 points won't decide a game on the first drive of the game. It shouldn't, but in typical fashion Mario and company aren't looking out for that. That's as bad as not taking the knee at GT.

This staff just gets bent over time and again.

Knowing Brohm, we saw that fake FG a mile away... yet our coaches didn't

No issue with 2 of those picks, the first some DPI and you have to back your guy.

The last was a horrific awful play call in the situation.

Swap OCs in this game and we blow them out.

He lets his boy call the run plays per Dawson. It’s a mess. The offense itself is not good. Defense got outplayed. Ol held up imo but the penalties were egregious. On top of that, Carson Beck doesn’t have any pop left in that arm. Overall, we aren’t built to come back in games w this offense. Cam could do it. Beck isn’t cam

I don’t think “the board agreed” is even a good rationale because the board are all fans. The coaches are paid to make those decisions and watch tape and evaluate skills and fit for the scheme, and have insight into personality and stuff we don’t see.

But I’m just saying lot of people didn’t want mendoza. Beck has had some stinkers (Florida and tonight) and he’ll probably have some more bad games but he’s been good at times too and hopefully he turns it around and this is as bad as it gets.

I wasn’t a fan of his before he got here but now he’s our QB. Winning solves everything I still believe in the team. Think this could be a wake up call. We’re so talented and the guys are hungry

It’s only one game. The beauty about the new expanded CFP is that u no longer have to be perfect. An early loss like this should show the mantel of the team. I just don’t want to hear “blame (insert name here)” if **** goes off the rails.

Lbs for lbs this is the best team we’ve fielded in a while. Some of my ? marks on defense have been answered, & Young Toney have already made me forget about Restrepo.

With that said, we need a little more diversity on O moving fwd, but now I’m wondering if the playbook is being hindered b/c of Beck? I certainly hope Beck is not a more expensive TVD. Anyways, a lot of football left. Just wish we didn’t have back to back byes like we did.

Did we watch the same game? Lol. All 5 of his picks were horrible.

The first one he under threw Toney, in triple coverage, allowing a LB to drop so deep & he snagged it right in front of Malachi b/c he had to wait for the ball to get to him.

The second one he literally stared down CJ Daniels & the CB was in blanket coverage. He was in a better position than Daniels.

The third one he released the ball as he got hit & threw it right into coverage. Fortunately this was overturned on a ?able roughing the passer.

Instead of capitalizing off it, on the same drive he got happy feet & straight air mailed the int.

The only int I won’t blame him too much on was the game ending one. The ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage & the defender made a helluva play to grab that int.

Other than that, allllll of those ints were on him. There was not one single DPI on any of them.
