Did Mario throw 4 picks??

Just sloppy football top to bottom. The Mario bye week curse continues.

It may also be a UM/home game bye week…I can't remember us playing a good home game off of the bye in 20 yrs/5 head coaches. There was probably 1 or 2 but not many with some real clunkers

Maybe distractions of Miami life. Don't know. But it's real.

our offense isnt made to play from behind is the bigger issue. we dont really have a hurry up and outside of toney, no explosion from the run or pass game.
Unless we have Adrian Peterson back there, our run game will lack explosion because of the **** scheme

You got folks bring up Bain before mario

😂😂😂 **** crazy
Don’t necessarily think it was either’s fault. Louisville called plays to nullify our D ends. And Mario is who he has always been. The offense needed to open up the play calling to get more out the running game like we did on that 3rd TD. Maybe or obviously that’s on Mario depending on how you feel about him. Dawson didn’t help and Beck played poorly. They are his choices, so do with that what you will.

We also saw him up close & personal.

But I’m just curious who’s been the one making the hires, & who’s the one making the talent acquisition decisions. B/c I feel like Mario is the only one who’s continuously absolved while others have been scape goated:

Again, memory lane for the casuals:
2022 (5-7): It was Gattis, & the lack of cohesion between Steele & Charlie Strong

2023 (7-5): It was TVD & Jahmile Addae

2024: (10-3): It was Manny left over players & Lance Guidry

2025: (5-1): Now it’s Beck & Dawson

I mean…who’s hiring these folks? Who’s not telling them to come pick up their kids or begging them to come to Miami via NIL?

It’s only one loss, but I’m a little concerned the board is looking for its next scapegoat.
And when are we gonna hold the offensive line coach to account his position group literally leads a team in penalties, where is accountability in that?

Plenty of blame to go around...

Defense came out flat and struggled with the quick passing game unless Moss was pressured or missing his spots.

Heatherman seemed a step behind Brohm most of the night.

Offense came out and looked like pure ***, to match.

Offensive playcalling was uninspired, vanilla, and (for the most part) playing scared.

Beck was seeing ghosts all night - just stupid with the football.

OL got no push in the run game.

LBs looked like **** moving laterally.

WRs not named Toney were in a real struggle to get separation.

Coaches and players... they all deserve blame.

You think we weren’t flat and unprepared? We 💯 were!!!

Mario is responsible because this is his running scheme, firstly. It’s predictable. It’s puts the QB in tough spots. The route trees are the same types you would find at a youth football game of 10U. That’s all due to Mario.

I absolutely feel that the way we played the 4th quarter vs FSU and how conservative we were played a factor into how we came out with no intensity.

Carson deserves blame but he wasn’t helped by his coaches.
I’ve been waiting for some end around with Toney all year. We finally got that and a wrinkle. It worked. Agree we needed a little variety from the base plays. Those worked tonight.

Were you saying the same thing last year? Or were you just blaming the D? Unfortunately we can predict most games based on who the QB is. I’m not blaming the QB for it all. Everyone cried when we had a pro style OC. Been hearing the cries for run and gun/west coast offense for years, get the pirate RIP. Now everyone hates the RB dive non stop. We can’t have both. Pick your OC/style and ride. INT’s kill any game plan.

Again, hard to say we were flat. If a couple of his INT’s connected we’re looking at 35 plus points. They didn’t. He should have checked down. Swear one of them was triple covered. Had some drinks so can’t say with certainty.

Don’t think we were flat and unprepared. Think we weren’t prepared to see 3 QB’s in the first quarter, sure. No one prepares for that, props to them. But they only scored 24!!!

You’ve pinpointed the L on being Flat and unprepared? Where exactly? Maybe we agree, I don’t know.

3 QBs? You mean the wild cat?

What about the fake FG everyone saw coming?

Cam Ward covered up a lot of things for the offense, but we also utilized our WRs much better.

The defense was abysmal last year. It’s a fact. What is also a fact is that we are not a good team running the football. The states speak for themselves and that’s how this offense is built.

Agree on the D last year. The fake FG that went for like 3 yards?

Call it what you want. Had multiple QB’s taking snaps under center. Go back and look at how many actual QB’s played in the first quarter. Yes, they had some RB’s take snaps from the wildcat.

Yes, Cam was a star.

I also remember everyone worried about Dawson leaving to be a head coach THIS year.

Sounds like we’re on the same page. Go Canes. Got 1 L.

You mean the one where when we stopped him from scoring Mario and half the team thought it meant we got the ball not realizing they got the first?

100% leaned over at the game and told my daughter, they are faking this kick.

I am so numb about Canes football... That I no longer lose sleep over losses anymore, like I use to. We have become such of a predictable organization, that losing is OK now. Every year we are SUPPOSED to be back with every good win over great teams. Only to lose to inferior opponents. It doesn't matter the coaches, we lose having LOADED TEAMS. It's just ridiculous the ways that we are losing it's just, unexplainable. Is it the COACHES? Maybe.. But I just think every team just gets up for us so much that we're having to play playoff football every weekend. (NO ROOM FOR ERROR). Many coaches have tried, too many playmakers to count and we still have not been relevant for over 24 years and counting. So I ask...WHAT'S THE ANSWER? CAN WE EVER REALLY BE BACK?

Beck is trending towards TVD 2.0.

No mobility.

Minimal ability to extend plays.

And seemingly an inability to overcome in-game adversity… instead he lets it snowball.
He ain’t Lamar but he can extend plays. He’s just choosing no too and you can tell.
