Did Darren Branch just flip

nah this kid was going to leave regardless. he wanted to be closer to home (family wise). it was mentioned for months on numerous recruiting pods.
I wasn't that big on the kid not mad he left. We should concentrate on home base....if it's an elite kid I don't mind OOS but there is this type of DB in sfla everywhere just have to find them and fight for them.

He wants to be a true CB not a “striker.” Also notes he wants to stay close to home

He should be a corner and not a striker. He's not built for striker and it makes no sense. We have 200+ safeties with less than ideal range to play striker already and Gil behind them who can easily be big enough for that role.

Bodying would suggest that they beat us for more than one kid. Is that the case? Or you just being you right now
I guess I'm being me lol

I'm not mad about this one though.....I would get the perception would look like Ole Miss beat us just like we about to "beat" bama for Worsham.

Or the old..Rumph/Banda gonna coach em up. lol

These dudes are the worst in the recruiting game.1 is like watching paint dry and the other makes a mean long island but is the bartender taking shots all night while making yours and by November is punch drunk wondering the back alley's and hitting on all the bottom list bottle girls.

I know people like to beat up on Banda but Rumph kills me, because he actually has some decent data points in player development. He must be absolutely awful in the living room.

He’s not some can’t miss prospect. It’s a down year in this db class but it can still be salvaged. Go get Harrell and Francois in the class and if you plan to take an underrated south Florida db then it ONLY needs to be Ronald delancy from Miami northwestern.....

It doesn’t matter. It’s the principle. This staff can’t hold on to kids. We struggle to close for one reason or another

Can the coaches finish though? Espcially with the local crop, they annually string UM & then at the 12th hour tell this staff to pound sand. Hopefully there will be another surprise last second OOS player like Williams last year as the National Signing Day madness happens & classes get filled.

I hope they don't bring Harrell in as a corner IF they can Bring him in PERIOD! He will be a nice safety/striker but corner 🤔 not seeing it. We need some quicker guys outside. Would love to have him on the roster period at the end of the day doe

Can’t argue against that, it’s true until proven otherwise

Yes, and cautionary to all the folks who say we should chase everyone everywhere (or the ‘best’ kids ‘wherever’). You recruit kids for years. Keeping them in the fold when they aren’t local and are sought after is hard (and why go for OOS kids who won’t be sought after?). When they’re non local, sought after and we got a bump (as we did this year), it’s that much harder. All the more reason to focus locally.

Manny’s recruiting is suspect, imo. This is just a data point.

This is the University of Miami that we're talking about here. There is a long track record of OOS kids playing for & succeeding @ MIA. Both Keyshawn Lawrence & Branch have extenuating circumstances relating to their families that is preventing them from playing for a school which is far from home. Let's also keep that in mind

My 2 cents, if you want to be close to a sick grandfather why not Tulane or LATech? Oh that’s right... they aren’t SEC schools.

i won’t fault anyone for making family decisions. But Ole Miss isn’t the “close to home “ school not named LSU.
