What were his excuse? We're young? Young QB on the road? That's a good team we faced out there? I didn't have the stomach to listen.

I'm guessing he threw out the "that's a good football team over there" (re: Louisville) stinker.

Nothing he says is going to matter or make you feel better.

He could, like a real coach / man, say what hundreds of coaches say. "That loss is on me. The coaches did not put the players in a position to succeed. I apologize to my players. My fault."

Coaches do it all the time.

He says it all starts and stops with him all the time. Doesn't change the outcome of the game and doesn't make us any happier.

The question I have is whether, when they look at the game, do they see Kaaya missing a wide open Dorsett/Coley, etc, etc a blown/hold ST play and a tired defense and think -- we should have won this game, but we did not execute and had a freshman QB ---- or do they focus on other areas like the horrendous offensive game plan.

Yeah, and then it's all "we're young" the "other team is good" "we missed assignments" "cloud" etc.

Coley was clueless...

Agreed.
Listened to the clip. Perryman was a cramp.

Blame lies soley on Goldens shoulders for 2 main reasons, hiring Coley to be your OC and starting a true freshman QB.
I said it before with the previous coaching staff, the HC/OC/QB dynamic determines success more than anyone thing.
Thats why I thought Shannon would ultimately fail and why it looks like Golden is heading down the same path.

He said all the right things in the video but things never seem to change. So I won't hold me breath.

He's been saying the same **** for 4 years, "starts with me", blah, blah blah. Get this bum away from my team

Anyone who still cares what he says is misguided. Doesn't matter who he blames. The results are, unfortunately, the same.

Yup he said the right things but now they ring pretty hallow. He took the blame. Also put it on the coaches for not protecting Brad. All of it makes no difference if at the end of each game he is still saying the same exact thing.

More importantly, did any of the players blame the playcalling? If not, then who cares what Alfred says in relations to him taking all or deflecting some of the blame as it'd really be nothing aside from empty words and typical "it starts and ends with me" coachspeak. I didn't watch any of the postgame so I'd be more concerned about any offensive players hiniting at dissent over the calls. I doubt it though as one thing has been evident under this regime- they seemingly get the players to buy into their plans or they've done a good job of keeping **** in house.

Exactly. Despite the poor offensive play calling, we still could have won that game. Give Kaaya some more experience and poise and he doesn't make the mistakes he did, but he's a true freshman QB and that's what you're going to get, especially when the Oline plays poorly. Kaaya will get better. Now Coley's play calling needs to get better as well.

After watching this, Golden knows it was Coley not making the right calls. Going into this game knowing they were going to stack the box with 8/9 guys and this was the game plan they had. seriously... wow.
