Diaz video from today

Great to hear praise for ford and Silvera. Also of the young guys Payton and Harvey which I’m sure many of us expected. But Diaz mentioned Zion Nelson has also been competing at a high level, I’m interested in seeing how he progresses

Zion, like myself, is from the South Carolina Midlands; therefore, this does not surprise me—even a little. . . . At. All.

Perrys and Boulwares

Except Zion is playing offense.

It’s pretty common and it makes sense if you think about it. The ones on O need to work the game plan and so does the D. The 2s give you a good look running stuff you might see in the game from the opposing team.
This happened throughout Spring and Fall practice. 1s need to see more 1s. Period. Perhaps not all the time, but when we're testing certain things to carry over to games. It's why certain things we thought would work - like Berrios playing outside during Richt's first year or certain plays that hit because of matchups - failed miserably on game days. When it comes time to game plan, sure, throw the scout team out there. The goal is different.

Thanks Brock! I can't wait to see Payton, he's going to be a good one real soon.

Agreed, I think he’s going to move up the food chain quickly and ball out this season. The question becomes, do we try and redshirt him or if he does like I feel, play him the whole season?

I honestly never understood the concept of repping your 1's vs 2's.
So the 1s can practice against non starters who will run whatever scheme the opponent will run that week. Obviously starting units need to see what they’ll be facing before game day, and the 1s can’t be learning someone else’s system every week.

In spring ball tho, I dunno.
