Diaz updates team after Wed. drills, speaks on Lingard

That is sharp? Not in that video and no offense to the young man about it. He looks like he's half assing it, which is understandable considering the situation.

The entire team goes through drills half assing it. This staff is a joke based on the effort levels by whole units in practice clips that are being published. No wonder why we stink. We don't practice anything we do at game speed.

LOL i've never seen a post more obviously identifying someone who has never, ever been on a football team. are you absolutely ******* serious dude

Lorenzo was cleared for contact the week of the Florida game. He also didn’t have a concussion, he was simply put into their mandatory concussion protocol when you take a direct hit to the head & look a little woozy. He passed all the protocol during the mandatory time he had to miss. Also, he runs as the scout team RB every day (full contact) against the #1 & #2 defense while the others are gong against scout team. Not hard to figure out why he’s not crushing it in practice. Also not hard to figure out why he doesn’t know all the nuances of our offense, when he’s learning the other teams offense during the week.

I disagree. Florida and UNC were more frustrating than anything. Our team struggles to score points.

Glad you're having so much fun though.
For the person that can't stop vomiting from their mouth we're averaging 7-5 record for the past 15 years you were expecting 40 points against UF? Way to keep a balanced head on your shoulders.

UF game was fun until 7 minutes left and UNC saw us move the ball unlike anything we've seen against a P5 team in 5+ years. If not for one kicker we score 30 and win the game with ease.

Stop being so combative. I think we play a boring brand on both sides of the ball.

Primary back... :rk5i6fxwjlgev5j6.jpg: Good job gamer.

So put him in to block? (which he is allegedly WAAAAY behind on and wasn't picking up when he was healthy?)

Put him in to jet sweep?.....ala Martell for a gain of 1.1 and bone crushing tackle?

How about to run off tackle into....our tackle going backwards into him for a nice knee wrench to the ground?

So, let's call him the "secondary" back. What would would you like him to do as he stands out there?

I want him to play as well. I know what the kid CAN do....but this team isn't doing what they need to do on offense to let the kid shine at what he does.

I think Diaz is hoping this (coaching may be the question) OL will grow up and gel so that Lo can showcase what he can do without risk of being back injured.

wait....

So what you are saying is that Manny, Enos and the offense is so awful that it does not matter how they may try and use him?

You don't know what he would do if he is not the primary back??? Have you ever seen a back field with more than one RB....does one run the ball and the other stand around?

So to you it is either replace the starter at RB or never see the field...got it.

For someone who likes to call people gamer you seem to have a very limited understanding.

I've found that neither willing for nor *****ing about something will make it happen if it's out of my control. If it did, we'd have 40+ rings by now.

Then speak for roRk and no one else. Don't say **** like "we're growing tired".

Fair enough but I can't be the only one. I don't think anyone expected us to light up the scoreboard immediately but something's got to give. Whether it's Jarren's deep balls, or Thomas making more out of his opportunities with the ball in his hands, or Pope being featured more, or Lingard getting a carry. Who isn't ready to see some explosive plays? And a return to form on defense. Get after the QB on 3rd downs.

said this a couple weeks ago. football season is supposed to be fun man. expecting us (without merit) to average 40 points a game and then being all ****ed off and upset when we don't is not how i want to watch the season.

like i've said, hope the team wins and enjoy college football saturdays. f*ck being miserable all the time because we aren't the 2001 canes anymore

Dude Diaz is a fraud! It’s crystal clear now and I fully expect a mass exodus of some of our most talented players in the off-season. Diaz is digging his grave so I sure hope he likes it when it comes time to lay in it because with his lack luster recruiting and losing players like Lingard idk how Anyone expects this bum to win when he can’t even win now with the most talented team at UM in 10 years. I’m sick of this guy in every way!

The guy that isn’t playing is always the best guy. This board is comical. Just like in recruiting.
Dallas has been very good and Cam was playing solid until last game. Lo is going of a major knee injury, concussion and still doesn’t fully know the playbook and some of you think Diaz is holding him back? LOL

you're probably right and have a much better grasp on how he looks in practice and if he's ready to go.

To everyone saying he's not healthy: doctors cleared him....they go to school for 100 years to know wtf they're talking about.

To everyone saying he potentially can't block: okay, don't ask him to block and just run him or send him out on routes (short term, eventually he does need to do this).

Football isn't rocket science, common sense goes a long way. Hoping the coaches know this but it doesn't appear that way so far.

This is good advice. Managing expectations is an important part of life and I don't blame anyone for becoming apathetic. I'm sure most Miami fans would be reasonably content with going 9-3 most years and enjoying those 12 Saturdays each year where college football is on tv all day. That would be good enough.

However, we are forced to endure some pretty intense anguish. We have to watch the best talent escape from South Florida each year. The happiest we're allowed to be is on the day when our head coach finally gets fired or retires. They knocked our stadium down. We get routinely hosed by refs, the NCAA, polls, the bowl system. We have won our division just once. And through it all we've managed to maintain our thug/criminal reputation which just makes it easier to laugh at us. And yet there's still Miami fans who remain completely unfazed. It's really a miracle of evolution.
