Diaz Salary

FYI they could’ve had Matt Campbell for 4 mil and only 3 mil more in buy out. Probably could’ve had Dino or Neal Brown for just a smidge more than 3.1 or less.

Talking to a few people, Dino’s new extension puts him above that. No clue real figure. My buddy on staff there gives less info than John Gotti.

That’s fine and all, that extra money saved from the difference in richt salary and diaz’s Better go back into our assistant coaching pool... We need to hire top notch assistants period...

Are you serious? We went 7-5! Not 12-1 like OSU and Oklahoma. We have nothing to continue like OSU and Oklahoma had...there’s nothing that went right and we need to continue doing because it failed! What a horrible comparison.

And we finished #2 in total defense. Blake hired the DC of the team that finished with one of the best defenses in the country. If he worked for another school you'd be praising the hire.

Even your Simple Jack brain should be able to understand that Manny shouldnt be responsible for the offense last year.

But yeah, Neal Brown would definitely have been better. Sure thing Simple Jack

3.1 million per year.

I said above 3 mil would be ridiculous for Diaz, but I wouldn't be surprised if James gave Diaz that amount. James did not disappoint.

Maybe Blake James thinks this is a "Brewster's Millions" situation and if he can spend 30 million, the school inherits 300 million. Next up, hauling icebergs to Miami for fresh water.

As long as that incompetent buffoon is the AD, the sports programs will stay in the toilet. I don't think I've ever hated a person as much as I hate Blake James.

Really?

You hate the Miami AD for his football HC hiring decision and you've never hated anymore more?

Then you have had a pretty simple life.

We went 7-5....you don’t continue anything from a 7-5 team because it’s a failure. Why do you think he fired the entire Offensive staff?

You out of all people shouldn’t be calling anybody simple jack.

I can't sleep knowing they didn't check in on Matt Campbell.

What’s worse is that I have this dude arguing with me about how we needed to hire Manny to continue all the “good” Miami had on D and comparing it to OSU and OU. “Don’t look at the 7-5 record...nothing to see here! It’s the same as OSU and Ryan Day!”.

he turned down NFL interviews...
Ok? If PSU and Michigan called tomorrow he would’ve been on the first plane out for sure. How do we know he doesn’t think that about Miami? Oh wait we can’t find out because we never called...

what makes you think hes interested in the Canes HC job when hes turning down an NFL hC interview
Because he probably doesn’t want to coach in the league. How much you want to bet he’ll be on the first plane out if Michigan or PSU called? How do we even know he doesn’t think of this job like that if we don’t call?

You saying that he turned down interviews doesn’t mean you don’t call.

James sucks. Really sucks. Baseball and basketball - not to mention the football program - are not in good shape. He as failed as an AD and should be fired.

I’m never upset by a head coach’s contract, unless it’s too low. This school needs to act like a major P5 athletic department, and that starts with financial investment. Miami is a 3-4 million dollar a year HC job, and it will never go back.

That’s good, whether or not Diaz deserves it.

I don't mind the Diaz hire, but 3+ mil was way too much IMO. I thought 2.7 mil would be about right. I guess it gives him the opportunity to pay assistants out his pocket if James says Miami is tapped out.
