Diaz on the Joe Rose Radio Show 9-20-21

it only shows up on gamedays.. he's surprised by it...
Guy is surprised by teams running a basic counter and the team hasn’t set an edge in three years, so I don’t know. I’d also love to know what else the young guys have to show to get more burn. For Kinchens and Williams, we can start with going to tackle the ball carrier instead of the blocker. For Brinson, Smith, and Arroyo, let’s catch the ball. For Taylor, just do the opposite of Miller.

To say hes coaching for his job is an understatement. I mean at this point hes got nothing to lose and he should be smart enough to know this. But to one posters point, playing young guys for one game against Cenn Conn then when we play Virginia sit them on the bench and going back to the upperclassmen is probably what hes going to do here.

His biggest head scratchers when it comes to roster management that is a fireable offense immediately are not playing any of the Tr-Fr RBs when it was sorely needed against MSU, not playing Leonard Taylor, and keeping Mallory out there. When he is in you are basically playing 10 vs 11 because he cant catch or block at this moment.

Think you all are losing the plot. Manny is coaching for his job right now. On one hand, he knows the fanbase is ****ed so he's giving off the impression that competition is open, etc. On the other, he also HAS to win now so who do you think he's going to trust ultimately?

We are gonna start 2-4. We are gonna struggle with Connecticut. Our play is not as a result of the opponent. We are horribly coached. He should be cannwd after UVA when we take another L at home.

Are you Manny Diaz also?

Listened to the entire interview and it was vintage MANNY but I truly believe he now knows he can be fired at any time. Based on his comments and his dire situation I think we are going to see several youngers players on the field this week and vets sitting the bench. I don't think King is going to play. The smart way is to allow each QB to play a half and go from there. Personally I think Manny will be a casualty in the very near term if UM doesn't blow CCS out or we struggle.

I remember when “games got to be played” was a thing when referring to FSU. And I was like 😅 y’all right

So 4 years of bad angles from some of his seniors and he is now noticing it. I'd suspect Rose's internal clock was blah, blah, blah. I heard this from Randy, I this from Al....

Again, I hate to dump on kids, but it is hard to imagine McCloud at end would be less productive at linebacker. He cannot get off the edge unless we stunt. He cannot get off a block and the tackle takes him any place he wants McCloud to go. We are getting very little production out of 13 as well. You play 99, 12 and 33, period and maybe 13 on passing downs.

This guys is beyond a dead man walking. It's just a question now of what ACC opponent will end this.
