Diaz is not immune to criticism

Couldn’t guard Wisconsins WR’s in man. Had nothing to do with Diaz. His hands were tied by our **** DB’s & make no mistake. They suck.

You think Navy has more talented dbs than us? They just held UVAs Benkert to 16-36, no tds, 1 int and a qbr of 10.1. Benkert against us was 28-37 for 384 yards, 4 tds, 1 int and a qbr of 60.3.

When this many qbs, look this good against us, time after time, there's something structurally wrong with our pass defense. It's not normal for regular qbs to go on 15-15 streaks against a secondary.

Yep. There is a pattern here we can't deny it.

I'm ****ed this is the best we can do. Talented players make some coaches look better than what they are. Diaz was terrible today managing the clock and went to the zone at the worst of times.

Wisconsin has like 6 four stars on their team. They have a better staff imo

I still can't get my head around the fact that Wisconsin beat us by thrown the football.
The running game didn't beat us...they beat us throwing it....WISCONSIN!
I can't understand that.

A qb with a noodle arm and was awful all year looked like the second coming of Steve Young.

We seem to have that effect on all QB's that don't play for ND.

This was an all-around fail by the whole team, offense, defense, and special teams.

It was a very winnable game, but when the plays were there to be made they came up short in all 3 phases.

The whole thing just fell apart as soon as Rosier threw that first pick. All the air went out of the balloon. It's like the entire team just said, "Oh no! Here we go again!" And that was that.

Exactly!

News flash: in every game for every team something will not go exactly as planned. A bad INT when you are up by 2 scores should not cause your team to implode. First off, that INT was more on McDermott than Rosier for whiffing on the block. We ran that quick pass a million times in high school. Ball is snapped, OL stands up to get DL to rush, OL counts to 1,then dives at the knees and through the defensive players. It is literally one of the easiest plays to pull off, even as an undersized lineman I had a 100%success rate as it didn't matter how big the DL was, all of them will protect their knees. Rosier had every reason to believe the DL was going to be on the ground, and if you watch the replay the Dline man initially looks like he is going down but then sidestepped the LT. Should have been an easy completion, but OL failed to execute. If that turnover was the end of the game, then our team is soft and mentally weak. A championship team will have to figure out how to deal with adversity, so if you think that the team fell apart after then that tells you all you need to know. Wisconsin fell behind by 2 scores and shrugged it off. Rosier throws an int up two scores and the wheels fall off. That's not the sign of a championship caliber team.

News flash. Wisconsin's O-Line was too much for our 1 deep "All-American" defensive line, we hardly rotated anyone. No pressure + man coverage w/ average DB's and that's typically the result you get. Plus come on guys that horny kid was dropping dimes. JJ in coverage....dime. Redwine in position....dime. Delany ( I think) another dime! Man wasn't working, pass rush was way too slow for zone. We need more depth up front plain and simple.

If by “dimes” you mean “easily interceptable passes thrown into traffic,” than I totally agree with you.

We just made Wisky's quarterback look like Tom Brady. Yeah the offense sucked, obviously, but defense was up and down. And they got shredded in the passing game. Straight up.

The defense had a man on the receiver within at least 1 yard on most of those throws, they just never turned their heads

Easy interceptions for solid above average DB's yes, for Redwine and Delany absolutely not. In zone the receivers were finding holes, in man we didn't win enough 1v1 battles. Gotta get batter upfront.

Nah, Malik Rosier ruined this season. I don't give a **** what anyone who argues otherwise has to say.

This guy has been getting a pass all year because we're producing sacks and TFL's.

Truth is, just about anybody who's willing to run an aggressive 1-gap 4-3 can field a decent defense at Miami. It's not rocket science. We have dudes up front and the best DL coach in the country, we're bound to get sacks and TFL's. Diaz don't get props for that ****.

Ask yourself this question...

If you take away the fancy TFL/sack numbers, what is Miami's defense good at? (10th in the ACC in 3rd down percentage!)

Diaz get a pass cause he's a local guy and fans like him. (I actually like him too)
But the last time we had a decent defense was 2010 and our fans used to rip whoever that DC was. (Lovett?) And that defense was arguably better than our current one.

Not only did we have a ton of TFL's/sacks in 2010 but we had the best pass defense in the ACC. (#3 in the country)

Does anybody actually think the DB unit we had in 2010 was more talented than the DB's we have right now?
And our fans HATED that defense/DC, meanwhile we continue to give passes to Diaz.
Lovett fielded a better defense and he's coaching CB's at Cal right now! So it doesn't take a fvckin' defensive guru to field a decent unit here!

Fvckin' 72 points the past 2 games. We just got carved up by a QB at Wisconsin. Let that sink in. They averaged a whopping 192 passing yards per game this season. SMH
Spare me the excuses.

I said in another thread, you can't judge coaches on one or two games, it's not fair. Every coach takes their lumps. You have to judge the whole body of work. And that **** we saw tonight was par for the course with Diaz.

Yeah the backup qb who set the single season record for TDs by a Miami qb, beat FSU and ND, and led a Miami team to the ACC championship game ruined the season
