Diaz Dismisses Entire Offensive Staff?

How is a new coach firing staff members, savage. All new coaches fire people. Savage is scoring on 2nd down from the opponents 1 yard line When you are 3 scores ahead and 20 seconds left in the game.

That’s funny, about half the board swore up and down that Manny would not fire any body. That led to about 1000 Manny hate posts. Bunch of unintelligent fools on this board. Of course he was going to ax all those clowns.
Yea... we won't know for sure yet... but Manny may be what we needed. So far so good... but if we can beat UF, the crows will be trucked in and distributed.

Did I just read Diaz has dismissed the entire offensive staff?

???

Richt firing entire offensive staff would be a headline.

But new head coach opting to pick his own Offensive staff,....which is basically why he was hired to begin with?? I'm lost on what the ****'s so surprising?

This is a big middle finger since he was frustrated with the offense.

No it isin't. He just wants to hire his own staff and win.

The difference is that he's worked with them for 3 years. It's a lot harder to fire someone that you've been working with.....

Not when they're hiring you to fix that side of the ball?? If there's a mass exodus on the defensive side,...then we have something thread-worthy. This is more non-news out of boredom.

Diaz pulled a Thanos, after he got the last Infinity Stone. Dude snapped his fingers and half the coaching staff just dissipated..

Daaaaammmmnnnnnn!

Diaz went to the offensive side of the building and burnt them out!

Thank goodness Dugans was axed, now maybe Pope will catch more than one pass next season, and we will not have to watch Dee Wiggins drop ball after ball, yet continue to play. Guy played favorites, did not use players based on merit. Starting Wiggins over Jeff Thomas was incredibly dumb.

Ok...ok...Diaz you got my attention....now bring it home with the OC and the S&C hire we could have something cooking here.

So what? This board was blowing up yesterday about "hire a guy who can recruit, not Diaz", "Diaz cant recruit".... he can't and just showed the 2 best the door. Sure let's keep Patke and dismiss Hartley. Ya'll can F*** right off with that BS. Disappointing 36 hour for this Cane. Manny better bring it with the new staff.

Seems someone got too attached to coaches. When you have an offense that finished 92nd in total offense, it's unrealistic to expect a new coach to retain everyone. As much of a recruiter as Hartley was, he whiffed on his TE targets this cycle. On top of that, as a TE coach, he's decent. His special teams unit were among the worst I'd ever seen in my life. We could do better.

Dugans was a good recruiter, but the WR unit was arguably the biggest disappointment given their hype going into the season.

They were terrible coaches but good recruiters. Why not find someone new who can do both

People on this forum sometimes get nostalgic. I liked Hartley and Dugans, but it was clear they were more recruiters than developers. I'll just go ahead and take a guy that gets the most out of his position group while also bringing in talent.

None of this means much until we see who he replaces them with. Don’t want to see Dugans to Beard as an example. Upgrades only!

Well this is a big time loss for those of us who don’t like the hire, and a big win for Manny and the program.

What a way to start off his tenure. This type of next day massacre shows a ruthlessness and awareness that should have us all sporting chubs.
Didn’t like the hire. Would love to be wrong about him and he’s off to a great start

Keeping it real. We did not have the best defense. We played against mostly weak teams that inflated our stats.

However, the defense plays a sty of e that best suits Miami.

There probably won't be any changes on the defensive side of the. Some people think a DC should be hired, and that the Banda and Patke promotions should be taken away. Neither is going to happen and here's why:

A new DC will want to run his own scheme and hire his own assistants. Obviously, Manny has the defensive scheme in place that he wants to run. Who better to run his scheme than Banda and Patke. They've been with Manny for several years and know exactly what Manny wants and how to call a game that matches the scheme.

Manny will be listening to every call made during the game and can make suggestions or overrule the defensive calls if he deems necessary. Keeping Banda and Patke as co-defensive coordinators makes the most sense even if unpopular.

Agreed. Manny is going to bring in the DC that replicates his style of D.

My point is that he's not bringing in a new DC. He will stick with Banda and Patke as co-DCs. There would be no point hiring a DC outside of the current staff because that person would want his own staff and want to implement his own scheme. Manny already has what he needs in the current staff. Perhaps an additional defensive coach, but not a new DC hire. He will stick with Banda and Patke. I'm sure he promised them co-DCs for Temple before Richt stepped snd made them co-DCs at Miami so they will remain co-DCs.

Thats fine. My point is whomever is DC, whether it be someone brought in, or Banda is going to call a Manny defense.
