Diaz Dismisses Entire Offensive Staff?

Hartley - very good recruiter, very bad special teams coach. Hard to read on coaching TEs because our offensive system was so bad. We'll see who Diaz gets to replace Hartley as a recruiter as I think that could be where we most acutely feel his loss.

Dugans - good dude and good recruiter. I think most here liked him. They might not have been able to catch, LOL, but our receivers blocked better than our OL. He was a step forward compared to what he had before him. He'll land on his feet somewhere else, but he is replacable.

Searels - We should honestly take this guy to People's Court for malfeasance. Easily our worst experienced position coach in a long time. Hoping on top of hope that FSU or Va Tech or the like grabs him to fix their OL problems, but he is literally so bad, I could not imagine him landing at a P5 program in the same capacity. Of all the hires other than OC, this hire is the most important. Hard to imagine not improving with who we hire for this position.

Jon Richt - If he had to be on the staff, he should have been a GA here and then gone elsewhere to learn the game. Dad tried to fast track Jr.'s career and made a mess of our QB room. We will definitely get better here.

Coker fired a lot of His staff after the 05' Peach Bowl, how'd that work out??? What Diaz is doing is par for the course for new HC hires, it's no measure for success like some are suggesting.

Of course you are correct, but you have to consider that most Canes' fans suffer from Stockholm Syndrome - after 15 years of eating from a dog-food bowl in the basement tied to a water heater - so all this rapid change will lead to dramatic emotional swings, frenzied confusion regarding the state of the world, and explosive bowel release.

He said “**** all you bums”. Also I get why people want Dugans and Hartley to stay (recruiting) but as far as actual coaching goes, the receivers can’t catch and out special teams is one of the worst in the ACC.
I don[t
Dgaf about Hartley and Dugans collateral damage. This was a BALLS move.
I agree, they were the only 2 offensive coaches that have promise

You realise there's position coaches out there other than Hartley and Dugans that can recruit, right?

He's done the right thing - cleansed the entire offensive side of the ball and started afresh. No recruit is tied to Hartley and Dugans - if they can be swayed by those two, they can be swayed by a new position coach.

Exactly and the new oc will be able to bring in all his guys so he has no excuses

I just don't get the fascination with Hartley or Dugans.

ST play was awful and receivers who couldnt catch basic passes.

Diaz took out the Richt guys, first and foremost. Brown, Felder, Richt Jr. And Brown and Richt, at least, were obviously related to locker room issues. Searels goes on general failure to produce. Duggans and Hartley, what’s the difference. Neither coached their units well. Others can recruit. Most importantly, Diaz knows he needs an OC, and that guy needs to be able to pick his assistants. So he cleans the slate. Makes sense. Not personal.

Best sign is Felder. He didn’t have to go. Tells us Diaz has noticed what the fans see as obvious.

Interesting one is Simpson. Seems like a Richt guy, but if Manny keeps him, I’m fine with that.

All of the guys let go were Richts guys. Makes no sense to keep those guys in light of the fact that our locker room was completely fractured

That’s funny, about half the board swore up and down that Manny would not fire any body. That led to about 1000 Manny hate posts. Bunch of unintelligent fools on this board. Of course he was going to ax all those clowns.
Yep there was that idiot this morning who made up a rumor Jon Richt was going to be kept LMAO . I thought Dugans might be kept but Manny completely wiped the slate clean - My Man!.

If they sat back and watched CMR calls plays in that bum *** offense, without saying a single word, they were part of the problem!

These last 48 hours have been a rollercoaster. Wasnt impressed by the Diaz hire but I cant argue with some of his choices and possible OC names being thrown around (fedora). El jefe might surprise us all. I expect the D to stay intact and truthfully after their season you cant argue with that. But nobody on O should be safe

We had Ezzard, Njoku, Pope, Hightower sitting on the bench for Cager and Slo-Mo #81

Getting rid of the WR coach gives everybody a fresh start and gets rid of favorites..a brilliant move

There was clearly something going on in our wr room, evidence on the field was dugans also cant coach...He should have been fired right after jon.
