For 15+ years and over 4 coaching eras....the one constant you can expect at Miami is when they win BIG.... they come out flat the next game regardless of how bad their competition is...

Why is that?

Why has this team -- regardless of the upgrades with DK etc... -- CANNOT seem to BUILD on their improvements?

1 step forward and 1 step back every year....

When did we win BIG?

These guys play with more physicality when they just say F it and go play according to their abilities. I see this happening with the defense, mostly, but sometimes the offense too. On D, especially at the start of games, you can really tell they are overly concerned with all the eye candy, motions and fakes offenses like Fuente's (and every other ACC team's) throw at us. Trying to think about all that stuff makes them a couple steps slower and less physical because they're reacting. Then in the fourth quarter when they really need to make plays to win the game, they finally start to let loose and attack some. Not coincidentally, this is also when they start forcing turnovers.

They think-and-react too much on offense too, at times, which also causes them to play slower and less physical - but it's less clear and predictable than the defense. The most glaring example was of course at Clemson, when Venables threw all kinds of stuff at them.
